Ted Cruzs presidential campaign is vetting Carly Fiorina as a potential running mate, THE WEEKLY STANDARD has learned.
According to a spokeswoman for Fiorina, the former Hewlett-Packard CEO and one-time presidential candidate is being vetted by Cruz's campaign.
"Normal stuff," said Sarah Isgur Flores, who served as deputy campaign manager during Fiorina's bid, when asked about the process. She added that Fiorina has met with members of the Cruz campaign and has given them financial disclosures and other documentation. Flores added that "no offers" have been made.
On ABC's This Week Sunday, reporter Jon Karl floated the idea that Cruz could announce a running mate before next week's critical Indiana primary and suggested Fiorina would be the "one person" to fill that role.
Fiorina endorsed Cruz in March, after her own campaign for president ended. She has made appearances on the behalf of the Texas senator and introduced him at a recent campaign stop in Maryland.
Republicans in Fiorina's home state of California will vote in their state's primary on June 7. Fiorina won the Republican Senate primary in California in 2010.

That’s a losing ticket
She was an SVP at Hewlett-Packard until they fired her for driving the company toward Chapter 11. So is this a do over???
She’s a good match for him. Wasn’t she the one quoted as saying americans aren’t entitled to a job as she busily shipped off HP jobs?
Bitter ex-HP employees will be lining up from the East Bay to the outskirts of Sunnyvale to swifboat her in Dem ads. Don’t do it, Ted!
Independent run?
Not really. Hillary will pull out every ad run in California against Carly. They were brutal full of half truths and lied but they worked.
It’s just for the womens vote Carly. Don’t worry, you really won’t be asked. Cruz is soooooo clever.
Here’s a great site counting delegates, and predicting delegate targets for each candidate to make the nomination.
Of course, now, only one can actually do that before the convention, and that is Donald Trump.

Like two little kids playing house: Let’s play VP! I have no chance on Earth, and I’m dropping by the minute, but let’s pretend!
Cruz campaigh: Cara, if/when Ted get into trouble he can’t handle, can he hide behind your skirt?
She’d probably lend some pro-business credibility to him and I think that would be a good thing. Also, if the Dems run Hillary, that way Hillary can’t claim she’s the only woman in the race. Personally, I don’t think people care that much, but Hillary is going to make a big thing out of it.
That ploy would work SO well on the world stage, too! Just what America needs after 8 years of an effeminate Obama.
Lying Ted and Snarly Carly
As opposed to who? Dictator Don?
Both Trump and Cruz should be vetting VP candidates.
Yep, terrific pro-business credibility!
Looser = less tight
Loser = grammar policeman
Desperate ploy for CA. Cruz doesn’t really have a choice, it’ll be a wash though. Wont move the needle for him at all.
