He saved money, by switching to Geico?

Fair enough.

Or maybe he was just using the phrase to fake out and show up the Dems—he really knew that wasn’t the correct term all along.

Understood. I’m just not so sure as to how those California connections would fare with the average Trump-disposed voter, nor assured that the sort of establishment Republican voter there is going to jump on that aspect of a somewhat controversial potential VP to a campaign that is losing on all fronts, really.

The Cruz team may not be willing to face the music, but it certainly isn’t unaware that they’re not even following the sheet music. And, the Republican Establishment isn’t so avid now to invest much more in him. Frankly, it is too late for tricks and a magic show.

It’s over - he’s just unwilling to admit it.

This will give Rush something to talk about for 3 hours and not say a thing about Trump’s resounding victories last night.

Well, to be fair, political campaigns pay for a whole lot of air time through advertising dollars, so it makes some sense to stretch it out as long as possible to gather as many of those political dollars as possible, so I don’t think the radio personalities should be held accountable for that which pays their paycheck...

That said, since the announcement is scheduled for a rally, oh, gosh, look it is going to be a ‘we’re fighting on’ message with ‘here’s my VP’ - anything to get the news cycle to no longer report on the massive rejection by voters in five different states, one of which is likely a must win for Republicans seeking the White House.

If it was ‘we’re ending our campaign’, it likely would have been done as a news conference outside one of the many headquarters that is soon to close shop.

I just have to wonder - with all this massive amount of money flowing around (especially into the pockets of the Jeb team that came on board for Cruz) - where is this money when people are fighting to see veterans properly buried? Where is it when the fight is on for conservatives to take state houses? All this blown cash to shoot for a contested convention which Cruz will never walk away with the nomination from.

It just boggles the mind.

We have a Freeper who was there on Al Haig’s staff who says he was trying to prevent a coup by GHWB. So most of what you think you know about this is Bush propaganda.

Wow~I had no idea. That would be a great thread to read!!

He is pushing for a war at the convention that will totally fragment the anti-Clinton opposition. He is fighting to blow up the coalition that could defeat Clinton.

His game is very dangerous. He gets his name in the history books, I suppose, but that’s about it.

Here’s the bottom line in ALL OF THIS. If Cruz’ choice of whomever VP is so damned important and game-changing, where in the hell, and why in the hell was this person not put up for the nomination in the first place? If whoever it is was already a candidate, what would make anyone think that he/she is such a great damn choice now?

This hoopla over possible VP choice is just plain stupid.

Beck. Kasich. Now Fiorina? Incredible.

The ever-hopeful Cruz may get smoked in Indiana, or maybe not.

As you and I and every other non-Cruz zealot here knows, that’s not the issue. Tead’s done. Stick a fork in him, it’s over.

But Phoenix-like, GOP-e lick-spittle Ted Cruz will arise again from the Indiana ashes on May 4th, as he will today following the rout yesterday, as he did last week after the New York debacle (zero delegates, at least via voters), in order to carry out his marching orders: to try and deny Trump the nomination and achieve a contested convention for his bosses.

“Yeah Ted! You’re our boy. Promise!” the RNC. Even his deluded supporters believe this.
Adolf in his bunker, moving around non-existent divisions, was surrounded by fanatical worshipers, but even they knew the Third Reich was kaput.

Histrionics? Maybe. But I’ve had it with this looser’s BS.
GTFO Ted so we can start beating Hitlery!

Ted’s Presidential ambitions are done.
If he continues, he may not even keep his Senate seat.
