The reports I read was that a speechwriter was utilized but he was not happy with result and reworked it in a big way. All of it is basically things we have heard at rallies.. just presented in a more lecture type setting rather than pep rally format (which most of us love)
The new format won him a couple of votes in CA that were impressed with his TONE
