AND NOW... amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke... it is time for... that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-The-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he’s not retiring until every American agrees with him - do NOT doubt him - with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that’s Rush, for those in Rio Linda),the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back — just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America’s anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A real man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do — host. Get ready to what you were born to do — listen. And post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread.

He is nuts if he thinks the hotel business is a cakewalk- as I worked at a convention hotel.

Its a very labor intensive industry- so there is a high volume of work comp claims, discrimination suits, family leave issues etc.

Then there are the health, food, fire, building inspectors and regulators of every stripe.

Not to mention the heavy public access and traffic leading to an abundance of “slip and falls,” dram shop suits etc.

Of course, hotels can’t move their building overseas. LOL but look at any decent sized property and you would see most hourly staff- front and back- are foreigners! They pretty much show up to work and don’t usually sue.

Could not listen to Rush any longer. Did he ever mention Cruz picking Fiorina as his VP?

Instead of 7 vacation homes they will have to be happy with just 3.

Bit of advice....

Don’t order ANYTHING from Sherri’s Berries, ProFlowers.com, Vermont Teddy Bear, or any of their associated companies unless you want to get Spammed out the wazoo.

I think most people are voting for Trump MOSTLY because the GOP hates Trump and we are pissed at the GOP. Win/Win.

Ahhhhh I forgot about the land sales and grazing fees. Do you think it is possible to ever go back to that kind of limited government again, or do you think we will always now and forever be saddled with some kind of an IRS? Would we even want to? In principle I would think so, but not sure if the practicality argument could be made - not to mention won - anymore.

I was just reading a thread where Kenny and Yaelle were exchanging posts. Still makes me laugh. Starts with her post at #12:

That’s what I thought. “Protectionism” has become such a dirty word, but I kind of like it. Am I bad person?

Not only the delegate system is rigged, is it?

Just listened to the Donald at his Indiana rally. He was recounting how he became educated on how the delegate system works.

Just “jobs Americans don’t want” according to some people (who never get their own hands dirty and can’t imagine taking a job that does).

It’s been awhile since I’ve seen the numbers but IIRC CEOs historically had incomes that averaged around 36 times the income of their hourly employees. In recent years it’s been more like 300 times. If you’re someone who thinks that America was greatest when it had a strong middle class this is troubling.

“That’s what I thought. “Protectionism” has become such a dirty word, but I kind of like it. Am I bad person?”

The danger is that it gets exploited in a crony capitalist fashion.

But OTOH if you don’t address the mercantile export model of your rivals you end up with industries being gutted and the resulting loss of jobs. Tariffs are one tool available.

Between the mini monologue on what nickname to use for Trump, which, despite his protestations to the contrary, in his usage it is definitely delivered as a pejorative, and his snarky, peevish response to the last caller, Rush lost me today.

Too bad, as I listened to his show almost from its’ inception, and, to his credit, I learned a great deal from him.

So, Rush, I’m signing off today. Good luck.

Yep! When Rush talks about anything, even if he doesn't like it! Hope a ton of Trump folks can call in tomorrow and raise hell!

While CEO of HP, Fiorina illegally sold millions of dollars worth of items to Iran — Companies in the United States were prohibited from exporting to Iran after Bill Clinton signed two executive orders in 1995. Despite these strict U.S. export sanctions, Fiorina did business with Iran through European and Middle Eastern companies. HP then conquered the market in Tehran, and by 2007 accounted for 41 percent of the total market share. The company denied any wrongdoing, but admitted to selling “$120 million dollars worth of products to Redington Gulf, which then sent the products to Iran.”

She was considered one of the worst CEOS of all time- Arianna Packard, the granddaughter of HP’s founder, commented on Fiorina when the politician was running for Senate in in 2010. “I know a little bit about Carly Fiorina, having watched her almost destroy the company my grandfather founded,” Packard said. During her time as CEO, shareholder wealth was sliced by 52% while Fiorina “pocketed over $100 million in compensation.” She also received a $65 million signing bonus and a $21 million severance.
