Why would you tie yourself to a guy who is mathematically eliminated and has to rely on delegate poaching?

From the article on this thread http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3425791/posts :

WSBT-TV in Mishawaka, Indiana, reported Rafael Cruz created “a lot of excitement” by showing up as a guest of Indiana Republican Gov. Mike Pence at a Wednesday night fish fry dinner of Kosciusko County Republicans.

Pence is in a tight race for reelection. Trump supporters may need to remember his meddling come November.

Still, I doubt anything's bailing Cruz's sorry campaign out at this point. Like Haley in South Carolina, it won't mean much.

Indiana Gov. Mike Pence will make a “significant” Republican Presidential primary announcement this afternoon, Breitbart News has learned.

Gov. Pence is scheduled to join the “Garrison” show, a popular conservative talk radio show hosted by Greg Garrison on WIBC in Indianapolis.

Donald Trump, Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX)97%
and Ohio Gov. John Kasich have all met with Pence recently, seeking his endorsement ahead of the pivotal Indiana primary on Tuesday. Pence is popular with Hoosier Republicans, drawing support from all wings of the party.

Public polling currently gives Trump a slight edge in Indiana, but private polling rates the contest as a toss-up, Breitbart News has learned.

Well a six pence is worth about 50 cents so lets hope this endorsement is equally worthless.

What is wrong with these governors and talk show hosts? Someone please clue me in... is the GOPe planning a truly nasty surprise that is causing these losers to stay around?

I am voting Trump on Tuesday. I have sent an email to Pence with what I think about a dumb move like this. Cruz has no path to 1237. Really asinine move.

He lost my vote for reelection if he does this. I am not alone.

I can’t believe Pence is going to endorse Cruz. Its plain he has no chance to win. Pence is facing re-election why go down that road?

If Governor, Mike Pence endorses Ted Cruz...it will be the end of his political career!!! It is as simple as that. Can Pence be that dumb? I guess so!!! I guess he does not realize that a Ted Cruz, GOP, POTUs nomination will be the end of the Republican Party!!!

Is it possible Pence will take the ‘no endorsement’ road.
As in ‘I like all three, etc. etc. etc. thus I’m not going
to endorse one over the other.”

This leaves him potential to try to cozy up to all three
sides come his re-election campaign.
