Indiana Today: DefeaTED Cruz Speaks To Half Empty Room, Polling Affirms The Reason….
Conservative Treehouse ^ | 4/30/2016 | Sundance

Donald Trump supporters are a generally happy bunch...

The Cruz campaign in Indiana is in a state of collapse and freefall. By the end of the weekend you can expect the narrative to shift, and the campaign will be pointing fingers toward California (June 7th) because their impending defeat is looming ever more dangerous.

Before getting to a recent poll, lets take a look at the current landscape. Senator Ted Cruz and Carly Fiorina spoke at a campaign rally in South Bend Indiana. In a venue capable of holding more than 2,000 only a few hundred showed up...

That’s the second actual ground report in the past 48 hours highlighting exactly the same thing. The first report we shared yesterday...

My post election night math had 1,003 as solid – but virtually identical. So you can see, the probability of Trump earning the remaining 235 (1237 – 1002 = 235), knowing 51 of those are easily won in New Jersey (winner take all June 7th) makes the outcome of Trump winning enough delegates to capture the nomination a very high probability.

That crossing of the ‘inevitability factor’ threshold is what we have outlined as the most dangerous time. The angriest moment in the denial phase is right before the ideologically entrenched accept an inevitable outcome.

This should be embarassing to busTED. However with his delusion, he will never admit defeat.

And this joker thinks he can beat Hilary, never mind Trump???? A person still willing to vote for Cruz now with all we know about him has to be even more crazy than Cruz which is not good.

Yes this is what selfish, small minded people like Ted Cruz do. If he can’t get people to agree with him in the Senate he just obstructs. Too bad he didn’t filibuster TPA or the Corker bill.

I have dealt with attorneys and court for over 20 years. Cruz is acting like a typical attorney in a court room. It just out at you!

The Princeton Election Consortium has been looking at the accuracy of the polling prognosticators this season and found that 538’s “polls only” forecast was more accurate than his “polls plus” forecast. 538’s “polls only” forecast gives Trump a 71% chance of winning Indiana.

That poll appeared out of thin air done by a firm who hasn’t polled anything since 2011. Out-liar

An astute FReeper posted: ....a Texas friend worked with TX Solicitor General cRruz, said no one likes cRuz, or says anything positive about him.....said cRuz looks at everything through a “what’s best for cRuz” filter....

Rings true....based on everything we now know about this character Cruz.

It's a slapdown of Texans, inveigled into voting Cruz into the Senate, promising to be their voice in DC, saying he was a scrappy outsider running against a wealthy opponent (who just happened to get G/S to hand him over a million dollars).

After only 10 months in the Senate, his promises and his constituents were forgotten.......his long-laid plans for the presidency commenced. Like it was an afterthought he just happened to glom onto.

Maybe this has something to do with why Trump has a 71% chance of winning.

That poll has Crus 10 point higher than any other poll, and Trump 8 points lower. Someone must have smuggled Colorado pot brownies in to the lunchroom of that polling firm.

Once upon a time, I was mostly indifferent to Trump vs. Cruz. Sure, I leaned a little more towards Trump because of his real-world experience, but I would have accepted Cruz. Cruz's campaign convinced me. His campaign was all about him. Cruz was the "principled conservative" (no definition of what that means, though), whose win was so important that he was willing to lie and cheat to get it. That disconnect between lying and cheating and being principled turned me against Cruz. His slogan--"TRUSTED"--shows him to be no different than shady salesmen who profess their honesty and integrity in smooth oily voices while convincing you to spend hundreds of dollars on worthless junk.

Trump, on the other hand, has never made his campaign about him. His slogan, "Make America Great Again," places himself as an ally in giving us the country we have been telling our deaf politicians for decades that we want. For example, when we, the people, became alarmed and started demanding action about high levels of immigration, the politicians' response was to open the floodgates and try to push amnesty! So Trump made a comprehensive immigration policy part of his platform. We're working together on the Trump Train to fix the problems and bring vision and greatness back to America!

I believe Cruz has a sense of entitlement that stems from being raised by a Dominionist father who thinks his son is the 7th king and likely has been telling him this stuff since childhood. Really good attorneys know when its time to cut a deal. Cruz missed that deadline by about a month. He has an aberrant personality that is self destructive.

I’m not a genius but I would have seen the handwriting on the wall weeks ago and I would have reached out to Trump and cut myself a sweet deal for a spot in his administration as say VP, AG or Scalia’s chair on the bench. Instead Ted Cruz has burned every bridge he has crossed. He will soon find himself back in his senate seat with nothing to show for all this time, effort and money. For a brilliant guy he’s not real smart.

the real outlier in the current RCP average is the IPFW/Downs Center poll. without that one in the RCP average, Trump would be ahead by +6 average.

Nonetheless, the situation does appear to be fluid, so guess we’ll have to wait for actual results to know for sure.

IPFW’s Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics commissioned one over the past couple of weeks, giving Cruz something to smile about.

Among 400 likely voters surveyed, Cruz won out, getting nearly 45 percent, compared to Donald Trump's 29 percent.

so over a couple WEEKS, all they could poll was 400 people... OH yeah, i'm gonna put a lot of faith in that one i am

Polls taken over the weekend are going to be real interesting.

So, so much happened this week. Really no telling how this is going to play with the voters.

My guess is it’s quite close, but being an open primary should work to Trump’s advantage.
