Inside Cruz’s camp, confidence crumbles

BURLINGAME, Calif. — Ted Cruz is speaking confidently about knocking off Donald Trump to take the GOP nomination, but his top staffers admit they’re getting nervous.

In interviews, several aides, speaking on the condition of anonymity, expressed growing alarm that Cruz would lose Indiana’s primary on Tuesday — an outcome that would be a major blow to his hopes of holding Trump below the 1,237 delegates needed to clinch the GOP nomination on the party convention’s first ballot. The aides concede that, without a win in an Indiana primary where 57 delegates are at stake, Cruz’s shot at the nomination would significantly narrow.

Within the campaign, some are turning to the question of what’s next. One senior aide said there had been no discussion about dropping out before the final primary contests are held on June 7 but noted that Cruz wouldn’t be eager to prolong a campaign he was convinced he couldn’t win.

Tell Ted to get Fiorina to cough up with that 500K the Cruz PAC sent her. He can hire a new campaign boss. Mr. Neuman is looking for work.

Why would Cruz EVER drop out? His campaign and delegate stealing is all based on somehow sliding into the Republican Presidential nomination on the third or fourth ballot. Along with the help of his GOPe puppet masters.
Donald Trump better get enough delegates to win on the first ballot or the GOPe will skunk him with the help of Ted Cruz.
As long as the campaign money is there Cruz will not drop out. Even if it runs out he will not drop out.

It’s the shape. But is Cruz a big drinker?

Yes, both of his parents are alcoholics, his sister died from drug abuse and alcoholism. His dad abandoned the family when Ted was a toddler.

Ted has a long and documented history with alcohol abuse starting when he was caught by the police with a case of booze. He had further problems in college... again well documented. Most recently he told Anderson Cooper he was a “Scotch Man”.

Ted's behavior is classic for an Adult Child of Alcoholic Parents. You can look it up. Here are a few, see if you recognize any of them in Ted:

1.To cover our fear of people and our dread of isolation we tragically become the very authority figures who frighten others and cause them to withdraw.
2.To avoid becoming enmeshed and entangled with other people and losing ourselves in the process, we become rigidly self-sufficient. We disdain the approval of others.
3.We frighten people with our anger and threat of belittling criticism.
4.We dominate others and abandon them before they can abandon us or we avoid relationships with dependent people altogether. To avoid being hurt, we isolate and dissociate and thereby abandon ourselves.
5.We live life from the standpoint of a victimizer, and are attracted to people we can manipulate and control in our important relationships.
6.We are irresponsible and self-centered. Our inflated sense of self-worth and self-importance prevents us from seeing our deficiencies and shortcomings.
7.We make others feel guilty when they attempt to assert themselves.
8.We inhibit our fear by staying deadened and numb.
9.We hate people who “play” the victim and beg to be rescued.
10.We deny that we’ve been hurt and are suppressing our emotions by the dramatic expression of “pseudo” feelings.
11.To protect ourselves from self punishment for failing to “save” the family we project our self-hate onto others and punish them instead.
12.We “manage” the massive amount of deprivation we feel, coming from abandonment within the home, by quickly letting go of relationships that threaten our “independence” (not too close).
13.We refuse to admit we’ve been affected by family dysfunction or that there was dysfunction in the home or that we have internalized any of the family’s destructive attitudes and behaviors.
14.We act as if we are nothing like the dependent people who raised us.

It’s the motive for the campaign money and why it continues to flow.

Those who have motives to manipulate elections will continue funding the candidate they own. As long as there is still a tiny chance of having their collusion convention.

I honestly wouldn’t tag my hopes on the kabuki theatre of one poll out of six, considering the poor showing at his recent rallies. When is Cruz going to suspend? He’s burned thru about 120 million of other people’s money in less than a year only to be mathematically eliminated. Isn’t that enough waste? Think of all the hungry children in Appalachia that money could have helped.

The GOP/RNC is in denial. Cruz is just on board now. I'm sick of hearing Rush and Levin spout about 'constitutional conservatives'. The other DC elites all ramble on about it...while collecting their pay.

The Constitutional Conservative agenda is nothing but talk radio spin. Makes everyone feel like patriots.

I'm sick that I believed in these people and thought they cared about this country.

This poll is pretty dated. That said, it may show movement. What surprised me is that it didn’t get any play at all on the news channels. I didn’t even see Cruz supporters on cable talking about it. But we shall see I guess.

I'm with you.

Apparently, "Constitutional Conservative" means prissy manipulation of rules and procedures to undermine the will of the voters.

Rush and Levin can have that talking point all to themselves.

I bet when he was daydreaming of a life in politics as a kid, he imagined tens of thousands chanting his name.

But I bet they weren't chanting "Lyin' Ted."

The man is destroyed.

Lyin Ted will be used against him when he runs for reelection. I think he will lose, all the GOPe that hates him will be there to kick him down the stairs.

Your a Constitutional Conservative if the voters don’t get to vote for you? How does that work?

By lyin, back room deals, stealing another man’s elected delegates with bribery.

Lol. Yeah, I’m sure his daydreams didn’t include the ‘lyin’ part. But, in the words of Paul Harvey, now he knows the rest of the story.

He's not convinced yet? Hope Tuesday gets it through his thick skull. Get out Ted. You're a fraud.

Put this into your pipe and give it a slow burn You Trumpkins are something else.

That's that down syndrome poll that only polled 400 people over a 14 or 15 day period. That's a worthless poll, and totally unjustifiable why they would stretch it out for 15 days. The last time they polled anybody was in 2011. Basically, only a downsyndrome sufferer like SteelFish can believe it. BTW, I think Fox just reported a new poll with Trump leading by 8 points (saw a mention of it on twitter). Someone on FR will post it and you will feel sad and suicidal again.
