Larry Wilmore Roasts the Press in White House Correspondents’ Monologue
Daily Beast ^ | 30 Apr 16 | Matt Wilstein

President Obama was a tough act to follow, but Wilmore reminded some of Stephen Colbert with his audience-unfriendly jokes.

Tonight, Larry Wilmore proved exactly why he was the perfect choice to host President Barack Obama’s final White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Even if the crowd of journalists in attendance didn’t seem to agree.

More than ever before, the president was an impossible act to follow. Not only did Obama deliver a slew of jokes at Donald Trump’s expense but he also presented an elaborate Curb Your Enthusiasm-style video that included an epic John Boehner cameo.

Wilmore began by welcoming the guests in the house once again to the event, “or as Fox News will report, two thugs disrupt elegant dinner in D.C.” He introduced himself as “a black man who replaced a white man who pretended to be a TV newscaster," before adding, “so yeah, in that way Lester Holt and I have a lot in common,” to groans from the crowd at Brian Williams’ expense.

He was even more harsh to CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, saying, “Hey, Wolf, I'm ready to project tonight's winner: Anyone who isn't watching The Situation Room.”

What a disgrace all of these people are. The press, the politicians, and the "comedians."

A ghetto brawl in a crack den has more dignity and grace than this event. Have a listen to a few more.....

____________________________________________________________

..... Pivoting to Obama’s aging appearance, Wilmore borrowed a theme from Joel McHale’s speech two years earlier.

“Your hair is so white, it tried to punch me at a Trump rally,” Wilmore joked. “The president's hair is so white it keeps saying ‘All Lives Matter.’” Then, he added, “All I’m saying is that in less than eight years, Mr. President, you've busted two time-honored stereotypes, black does crack, and apparently once you go black, it looks like we are going back. Thanks, Ben Carson.”

----------------------------------------------------------------

He noted that MSNBC “actually now stands for ‘missing a significant number of black correspondents.’” after letting go of Melissa Harris Perry and canceling Joy Reid’s show. “They put Chris Hayes on probation because they thought he was related to Isaac Hayes,” Wilmore joked. “MSNBC got rid of so many black people I thought Boko Haram was running the network.” He also gave a shout-out to some of “America's finest black journalists” in the house. “Don Lemon is here, too,” he added, prompting the CNN host to flip him the bird on camera.

---------------------------------------------------------------------

“Frankly Donald Trump, his campaign is inspiring,” he said, pausing for effect. “Mass violence.

The drek of society, when they talk about putting lip stick on a pig this is like putting a pretty dress on a junk yard dog. This is the disgrace of a nation, the laughter and favolity of people who are systematically destroying the foundations of a great nation and the hope of an evil out of control world

Never in my lifetime has the bar for participating in violent protests and riots been so low. They and perhaps the media think they’re the ones who set the bar’s height but they need to be shown how wrong they are and why. However, they should only need to be shown once. After that, they’re on their own in getting used to the idea of living in the real world and not some “new normal”. If that isn’t enough then they’re just that much closer to spending time in jail or worse.

Larry Wilmore highlighted the racial double-standard in this country. A lot of people were groaning, not laughing, at his non-stop racial hectoring. Sad.

And Barry Hussein Soetoro and his presslings all had great whooping laughter at "jokes" calling Trump and his supporters "violent."

One day after this:

White house Correspondent dinners are nothing more than a waste of good time and energy. Fools pretending they are important.

The mass violence is from the violent left and the criminal gang called La Raza, just to clarify.

Trump needs to get on national TV and call Obama a disgrace for not calling out the leftists for their violent behavior.

>>> More than ever before, the president was an impossible act to follow.

Local news did their best to lick his backside, his performance is below average (I wanted to say bad). I didn’t think any of his jokes are funny, but I am way biased.

The quality of WH Correspondents dinner gala has done way down, just like everything in Obama’s whole reign.

So, as I see it, the only place where one can use the “n” word is the White House.

What an absolutely disgusting display of pop culture “humour”.

I hope they cleanse and fumigate the White House well before the next president takes office. Unless it’s Hitlery (God help everyone), and they can just leave it as is for 4 more years of demise.

Very racist performance by this so-called commedian!

Lines - "what did that jig-a-boo said" and "Yo Barry, you did it my nigger" were very unpresidential!

Even worse, they are fools who, unfortunately, are important in a very negative way.

Obama knocking Trump for his lack of foreign policy experience? Tell me, B. Hussein, what was your foreign policy experience in your career of community organizing?

I can’t tell for sure (and it may be impossible to do so) but I would almost be willing to bet that guy to the right of Don Lemon with the back of his head to the camera, dark hair on top and white hair on the sides, is Mitt Romney.

I listened to about 10 mins. of it, and he was skewering the press with points that both liberals and conservatives could agree with - lily white, rich, elitist, old, antiquated, no audience, no integrity, no accountability.

He was going at it from the left point of view, but I found myself agreeing with a lot of his generalizations.

Tell me, B. Hussein, what was your foreign policy experience

His community organizing was done in American cities, which could be considered foreign to Baraq Obama.
