Cruz Vows to ‘Go the Distance’ Ahead of Crucial Indiana Primary

With a pivotal vote in Indiana this week, Ted Cruz is vowing to "go the distance," whatever the outcome of Tuesday's primary.

"It is an incredibly important state," Cruz said of Indiana on ABC's "This Week." "We are competing hard. I hope we do well here. I can tell you I'm barnstorming the state, we're in a bus with my family, we're doing everything we can to earn the votes of the men and women in this state. We're going the distance. We're competing the entire distance.”

Cruz, trailing his main rival Donald Trump by 431 delegates, enters this week after two weeks of losses to Trump in six states. When pressed by ABC News’ Martha Raddatz about whether Indiana is a must win, Cruz would not say. While it is mathematically impossible for Cruz to clinch the 1237 delegates needed to secure the nomination before the Republican convention in July, Cruz says Trump won't get there either.

Sure, for established brands, something seldom seen in a primary election with no incumbent.

In the 'as seen on TV' category, the results tend to vary wildly, which was my point.

Brand loyalty seldom creeps in.

No one is saying they won't trade in their Ginsu for the latest cut-out knife. Either the product is superior or it isn't.

>>Brand loyalty seldom creeps in.

It did in this case. A lot of people look at Cruz and project an image of Reagan on him. They can’t see the career politician/lawyer under the hologram. Fortunately, his actions late in the primary season are making that Reagan hologram awful flickery.

Yet not even close to the level of Trump’s prevarications.

The Cruz campaign reminds me of the gambling scene in "Lost in America"

"C'mon 22! 22! 22!"

The only thing Cruz could beat Trump at is a game of ‘rings’.

Cruz reminds me of the guy who murders his girlfriend saying ‘if I can’t have you, NO ONE will!’

Someone is willing to stand against Trump! It’s a conspiracy! I can tell you that!

Call it whatever you want, but the voters are quite aware of what's been going on.

Vote Trump!

I mean come on, are you saying Ted has beaten Donald at narcissism? That’s a mighty high hurdle.

With respect to narcissism and egotism, Ted Cruz has cleared that hurdle with room to spare. Trump's foibles pale in comparison. Donald Trump has already been saying that this movement isn't even about him. It's about the People.

Ted Cruz thinks it's about Ted Cruz. Ted Cruz (and the GOPe he jumped in bed with) long ago ceded the moral high ground to Donald Trump. The slanted, despicable smears and lies misrepresentations that have been perpetrated against Mr. Trump by Cruz and his GOPe ilk take the meaning if the word Machiavellian to new heights.

Vote Trump

***Trump must be stopped so the U.S. can continue on its course of destruction, which will meet whoever that individual or entity is objective.***

No folks like you and I are behind the times! The Uniparty is owned by globalist money and nationalist patriots have to be done away with in order for the New World Order to take shape.

Now comes this “America First” jerk to throw a monkey wrench in everybody’s money train. I’ll be amazed and grateful if Trump ever makes it to the White House.

Just goes to show who Cruz really works for. Fooled me for me sure for a while. Until the Corker Bill. Then the scales fell off.

Since there’s no consular thingy, it looks as if he’s an illegal alien. Which means he needs to be in prison for usurping the office of U.S. Senator, and fraudulently collecting federal paychecks for several decades.

That boy’s just plain delusional.

He thinks he’s still captaining a ship, but it’s only a life raft. His ship sank on Tuesday.

In other words, the fact that you know who Donald Trump is is proof that he’s all self-promotion and marketing.

Right. What we need is a politician who can get votes without anybody knowing who he is.

“...after Trump has self destructed.”

You cruzers have been predicting that Trump will flame out and crash for ten months, now, but there still hasn’t been an earth shattering kaboom.

There was supposed to be an earth shattering kaboom.

You are making the common assumption that Trump has cinched the nomination. Maybe. Maybe not. The bitterness and vitriol and dishonesty on all sides in this campaign virtually guarantees an election loss in November.

I do not share your enthusiasm for Trump. Nor, though I voted for him in the primary, am I enthusiastic about Cruz.

You may well be in for an unwelcome surprise as the ACTUAL GOP-E (not Cruz or even Kasich) bullies and bribes its way to stopping Trump by turning delegates you expect him to receive. Scott Walker (AFTER the Wisconsin primary) was quoted as saying that the ultimate nominee would be neither Trump nor Cruz nor Kasich.

One service of the Trump campaign may have been to expose Cruz's weaknesses in such a way that he is never likely to be nominated for POTUS now or ever.

Trump has conducted himself in such a way as to likely guarantee a general election defeat if he is the nominee unless (only maybe) he cleans up his mouth and his act and those of his supporters. He insults everyone who posed any threat to his success and his supporters are worse than he is. He stampedes some voters but he won't stampede nearly enough in November.

I confess that I will stoop to vote for him against my every instinct simply because he is NOT Hillary and NOT Moral Monster Mitt Romney. That's a very low bar but everyone won't be as easy as I am.

People who do not support Trump do not have to hate him although some do. You won't maximize his vote by making such claims. The beneficiary of "party unity" would be Trump. What has TRUMP done to bring about party unity?????? Crickets!
