Cruz Vows to ‘Go the Distance’ Ahead of Crucial Indiana Primary

With a pivotal vote in Indiana this week, Ted Cruz is vowing to "go the distance," whatever the outcome of Tuesday's primary.

"It is an incredibly important state," Cruz said of Indiana on ABC's "This Week." "We are competing hard. I hope we do well here. I can tell you I'm barnstorming the state, we're in a bus with my family, we're doing everything we can to earn the votes of the men and women in this state. We're going the distance. We're competing the entire distance.”

Cruz, trailing his main rival Donald Trump by 431 delegates, enters this week after two weeks of losses to Trump in six states. When pressed by ABC News’ Martha Raddatz about whether Indiana is a must win, Cruz would not say. While it is mathematically impossible for Cruz to clinch the 1237 delegates needed to secure the nomination before the Republican convention in July, Cruz says Trump won't get there either.

“after Trump has self destructed”

ROTFLOL!

Haven’t seen that one for a while! Still, an oldie but a goodie!

>>I mean come on, are you saying Ted has beaten Donald at narcissism? That’s a mighty high hurdle.

Trump is riding the wave of popular support. Cruz is losing, counting on party rules to override the popular vote, and picking a running mate.

When you think you are awesome and most of the people think you are awesome, then maybe its not narcissism. When you think that you are awesome (and on a mission from Gawd) and most people disagree with you, but you keep on thinking that you are right and they are wrong—that’s narcissism.

“Cruz has managed to do ONE thing in this campaign: make Marco Rubio look good!”

You know, sadly enough, there’s some truth to that statement. At least Rubio looks and sounds pleasant when he talks, and even sounds articulate if he’s memorized the right response.

His phrase “going the distance” is pretty much an acknowledgment that he expects to lose.

Have you ever looked at the people on your TV and wondered why they were there? Why they have fans? Why they get ratings at all?

It's promotion and marketing more than the person.

Cruz probably still has some cash reserves, but the influx took a big hit after NY and an even worse hit after the ACELA primaries.

It’s not just Trumps wins, it’s the size of these wins. The fact that Trump won every CD in the ACELA primaries was a wooden stake through his fundraising heart.

Big money is smart money, and the smart money is on Trump.

We can only hope the money dries up. Left to his own devices, and with funds to afford it, there’s no way his ego will let him admit defeat.

I don’t think you are seeing this for what it is. Cruz is mathematically eliminated. Since this is a Republican primary he and, Kasich too, have an obligation to help unite the party in order to defeat Hillary. They both have had their chance to stand up to Trump. The voters didn’t agree and now it is time for both men to withdraw. Cruz had his chance. He even had a better than 50% chance at the VP slot, then his own presidency. He blew it ,,,,, big time. Hating Donald Trump won’t change that.

I expect the George Soros checks are already on the way. What did Ted say? I'll take money from anyone? Yep.

Yes and no. It is marketing and promotion to get them where they are, but they were chosen from literally thousands of aspirants who tried and failed to get to the point where the marketing and promotion machine could take over.

But Trump is not marketing and promotion. He is saying the things that regular people have been saying for 20 years and no politician would dare say it. He has opened dialog that was previously forbidden in a national campaign.

One of the Cruz ads running here in IN is centered around “The Math”.

Claiming Kasich is mathematically eliminated due to the delegate count.

But, the graphic they use still shows Trump with only 850 delegates.

They are using numbers from 2 weeks ago to show Ted still has a chance to overcome Trump in delegates if he can only win Indiana

The rules committee will do something like unbound the delegates.

Ted Cruz works for the R wing of the globalist uniparty. The R wing of the uniparty is perfectly happy with President Hillary. Cruzs job is to stop Trump at any cost and by any means. Which is why all Cruz does is attack Trump. Voting for Cruz at this juncture is the same as voting for Hillary.

Do we know for a fact that Cruz’s campaign or one of his SuperPACs is taking $$ from Soros, or might that just be rumor? I would imagine that the last of Cruz’s supporters might rethink their support if that is verifiable.

Whoa I never said that. Nor have I heard Cruz is taking money from Soros. I was speculating about the future possibility.

But if he wants to keep going I'm sure Soros will be willing to funnel him money in order to help Hillery. I doubt he'll fund it in such a way that it can be traced to him and Cruz has indicated that he will take money from anyone. So it's a possibility that he'll be funded right up to the convention by such means.

Read that again.

His whole life has been marketing and promotion--of Donald Trump, his business, the golf courses, steaks, vineyard, clothing, even the name of his boat (while he had it) and the side of his helicopter proclaim "Trump". If he was so astute why didn't he opt in when people had been saying these things only 10 years, or 5 years? Because it wasn't marketable.

As far as opening up dialogue, he hit the media with the sort of statements that would play through news cycle after news cycle--he is a 'reality' TV guy--he knows how to get free advertising. No media is bad media, no matter how you put that. He remains marketing and promotion, as seen on TeeVee!
