Good boy! Smart parents that they were teaching him how and when to use a gun.
Oddly written story. I suspect the journalist was conflicted about the tale.
He defended his home against an armed intruder with a gun, by using a gun.
To the Bezos Liberals running the Wash Post, this is HORRIFYING!
The kid should have ALLOWED himself to be shot by the intruder to further the Dems gun confiscation memes!
As Tom Cheney in True Grit stated, “I’ve been shot by a child!”
...Good boy! Smart parents that they were teaching him how and when to use a gun....
I read this story in a British newspaper yesterday. Their version of the story ended with, “No word on why an 11 year old had easy access to the gun...”
I guess the two sentences above answer the question for the British who just don’t get it.

1. Good that the boy shot his intruder.
2. Bad he needed (and got) so much facetime, making it easy for a revenge robbery in the future. Why is an 11 year old child being front paged like this? Mom too media-hungry to say no?
3. Boy shot 12 rounds, only making ONE hit? Enroll him in Target Practice, asap.
4. Notice the actual criminal is NOT photographed or even named.
The moral of the story is, stay the hell out of the homes of other people. Contrary to what the DemocRATS have been preaching, their belonging DO NOT belong to you. Unlike the liberal snowflakes, when somebody says, I’m going to kill you, I’m going to shoot them first. It’s just the natural thing to do.
Stepdad was clearly doing a good job educating the kid — he knew the difference between a “hollow point” and a full metal jacket bullet. I’d recommend the parents replace the FMJ bullets in the home defense weapons with hollow points — it could make a difference in the outcome of a firefight with an armed intruder.
“Lots of strange weird stuff in this story.”
My guess is the mom was doing the horizontal bop with the “burglar.”

Good boy -good step dad. My father started teaching me to shoot at 3, of course he had to balance the Daisy for me:) All kids should understand and be able to handle firearms. Great story, great outcome, although junior needs practice - his aim is atrocious.
Good man. Excellent way to bond with a step-son and at the same time give him skills to protect himself and others.
The title of the article is complete BS. The boy is not bragging about shooting a suspected home invader. He is simply describing how he was able to defend himself and avoid being a victim to an armed home invader.
It is like the author of the article would have been much happier writing an article entitled "Defenseless Boy Shot and Killed By Armed Home Invader."
Good boy. Bad reporter.
Some say he was running away outside which wouldn’t make it a lawful shoot, right?
I agree that the parents were awesome to teach him to shot a gun. But back to the gun range. It took 12 tries to get him. The NRA should give him free lessons.
