As a 5th generation Republican and Lifelong Conservative the political events of recent years have been frustrating. None are more frustrating than this election cycle.
We prayed and hoped for a real Conservative to counter the leftward pull of Obama. We wanted someone to pull the country to the right so we could possibly be, at least, center America, where we typically like to land in national politics.
We have had several Conservative candidates this cycle, but many who have called themselves "Conservative" have coalesced behind a man who is the farthest thing from Conservative as is imaginable and why? Because of FEAR.
Fear of the other, fear of violence, fear of immigrants. These are valid fears, but when fear turns to hate judgement is clouded. That is what has happened. Instead of standing by principles, "Conservatives" have been drawn to hateful rhetoric. Even after Trump has disavowed his own rhetoric to the NYT& others, the seed has been planted. If one wonders how despots rise to power, this is how. Exactly.
Trump's positions are all Liberal/Leftwing, some experts speculate Neo- Proto- or Ur-Fascist as well . He did not magically become Conservative and he has given ample evidence of this---repeatedly. But the fearful will not or cannot hear it.
If Trump is the nominee which Liberal will I choose? I choose Hillary and will, for the first time in my life, vote for a Democrat for president. Why? Because if Trump wins, pretending to be Conservative, he will destroy Conservatism for 20 yrs. He is not pulling down-ticket Conservatives so his administration would be Liberal to the max.
It is a difficult choice but I am absolutely convinced it is the correct choice. If I have to vote Liberal, I vote strategically Liberal.

Killary or Trumpdick. I am glad my state has write in votes. I always vote for my choice and sleep better at night knowing I voted for a true conservative instead of Tweedle Dee or Tweedle Dumb.

Oh, that's right, you need to tell us exactly why we are so stupid, and you, in your everlasting brilliance, are the epitome of conservatism, just look at the sentence construction, the mental powers needed for such a flash of reasoning.
No one else has any judgment at all, much less the political savvy to pick the most conservative politician, and back them to the hilt, come hell or high water, even though they may fail miserably, because, well, that is what conservatives do.
I read your short but interesting bio. My guess is you are in your 80’s and stedfast in your positions.
So, I won’t bother to try to change your mind, but you are wrong. Enjoy what you have left of your life, you old coot. The rest of us will help to turn the country around and make it Great again for our children and grandchildren.

All of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors he’s defeated (after they spent 100's of millions of donor bucks).

32. No big donors.
33. No party support.
What’s democrat about any of the above?

34. Redo the horrid Iran deal.
35. Take a serious look at NATO.
36. Require our allies to pay more for their defense.
It’s textbook vote suppression from Cruz now. Depress the conservative vote for Trump and pave the way for POTUS Hillary. When Cruz says “Trump & Hillary are two sides of the same coin” it is obvious what the intent is there. He’s telling his supporters in so many words: “They are both liberals. Don’t vote for them.”

Hillary just wants to be president for her own selfish satisfaction, has absolutely no idea how to run any serious organization, and will implement hard-Left policies just to satisfy her base and mollify the rabble until the whole system implodes.
Trump has actual competence in running large organizations, and knows that if spending isn’t brought under control all the other issues (regardless of where you or he stands on it) will be moot.
Yes, there’s much to dislike about Trump. There is far more to dislike about all the other options on both sides of the aisle. If we don’t get this system turned around, however impure the candidate is, there WON’T be a “told you so” moment that would enlighten the masses - there will be sheer ****ing anarchy.
