I wonder if Ted would expect us to have our Social Security number on this hypothetical postcard, for anyone to see and steal.

Your reply is welcome and I agree but you are assuming I said something which I did not.

What you are replying to is a cut and paste from someone else’s post.

“He’s offered a lot more than that...”

Exactly!

Trump has issued detailed position papers, starting last Labor Day with his approach to dealing with illegal immigration.

That position paper caused me to switch from Cruz to Trump.

When Ted GTFO which he should already have done then the bashing will cease. He’s been eliminated but he just won’t leave. The tribe has spoken, the fat lady is singing. The guy is like gum on the bottom of your shoe you just can’t get rid of him.

“IMO, kids should be kids and not political props.”

I agree with that.

We homeschool, and I consider political engagement, at a rally, for example, to be a teachable moment for our kids’ civics curriculum. Never too early to instruct our kids about the blessings and responsibilities of citizenship.

Young men and women really can do amazing things, if given the opportunity. We tend to have terribly low expectations of them. But they can do great things. Consider young George Washington, for example:

“Talk of securing an appointment in the Royal Navy for him when he was 15 was dropped when his widowed mother objected. At the age of 17, in 1749, Washington would receive his surveyor’s license from the College of William & Mary. Thanks to Lawrence’s connection to the powerful Fairfax family, Washington was appointed official surveyor for Culpeper County, a well-paid position which enabled him to purchase land in the Shenandoah Valley, the first of his many land acquisitions in western Virginia.”

(From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Washington )

Or consider David Farragut, who became the first admiral of the US Navy:

When he was just 9 years old, “Farragut was commissioned a midshipman in the United States Navy.... A prize master by the age of 12, Farragut fought in the War of 1812, serving under Captain David Porter. While serving aboard USS Essex, Farragut participated in the capture of HMS Alert on August 13, 1812, then helped to establish America’s first naval base and colony in the Pacific.... Farragut was 12 years old when, during the War of 1812, he was given the assignment to bring a ship captured by the Essex safely to port.”

Young men and women *can* do great things, if equipped and given the opportunity.

How would Donald Trump have responded in this situation? Probably in a very similar way — to get the brat booted from the rally. Which is reasonable, right?

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I was replying to “spktyr” and was quoting from him/her.

But I cc’ed you as a courtesy, since spktyr’s quote had been in response to you.

Anyway, I’m glad to see we’re on the same side in this matter. The casual use of obvious obscenities in public discourse is bad enough when adults are the offenders, all the more so when children adopt the practice.

I don’t know but his recommendation is silly. And it’s not really anything that will amount to something that would make America great again.

To all in the lobby, special interest, and welfarian community the flat tax does suck.

It takes away their power almost instantly.

No large tax code to manipulate or use as a weapon via the IRS.

People who get a free kiss in the mail and their offspring hate Cruz with good reason.

THE FREE RIDE WILL BE OVER.

The same can not be said about Trump.

Jedi.

One does not have to be rude to speak plainly. Too bad you cannot tell the difference.

Yeah, but what should we expect when about half of the population is deeply in love with “reality” TV?

What solutions is Trump offering?

Let’s see ......

- Trump is the one that made immigration an issue. The others preferred it be swept under the rug.

- Trump has made our trade deals an issue. The others don’t know where they stand half the time.

- Trump has made an issue of our jobs going overseas. I really haven’t heard much from the others.

- Trump put out his tax plan before anyone else.

- Trump addressed the VA conditions.

- Trump was out front on all the Syrian refugees being dumped on us.

Trump doesn’t wait until other candidates to weigh in on issues. The others are watching the trial balloons.

Trump has stated his position on so many things. He doesn’t wait on the others to state their position, he LEADS.

You are exactly correct. Rudeness should, in all cases, be corrected. Some people here have become so anti-Cruz that anything and everything he does is more fertilizer for their anti-Cruzness.
