Bad feeling for Trump in Indiana from this Hoosier (vanity)

Posted on 05/02/2016 7:00:04 AM PDT by Trump-a-licious

I'm a staunch Trump supporter who lives in Indiana, I have a really bad feeling about Tomorrow. I was listening to an AM station out of Fort Wayne, they're firmly in the Ted Cruz camp. They were talking about how Ted and Pence we're criss crossing the state today, seriously, the schedule is insane, the wives are also criss crossing to a different set of towns.

Sadly, a lot of folks in Indiana are none to bright and what I'd call followers, they basically fall for the MSM stuff easily.Clearly Pence is on board with the GOP establishment, why else would he endorse a candidate that is already mathematically eliminated? If Pence says he's okay, then that's enough for a lot of people here. Hell, I'd bet half of the voters don't even know Ted's eliminated already.

Anyway, the buzz here is non stop Cruz. Also, the ads on TV have been hammering Trump all weekend, I have not seen a single ad by Trump against Cruz? The polls for the most part have it very close, and like I said, folks here pretty much do as their told. I do not have a good feeling about tomorrow at all, in fact, I am preparing for bad news. Hoping and praying for a Trump victory of course, but more than worried.

To: Democrats hate too much

“NBC always has the most untrusted polls. Be weary.”

So they will be PUSHING for Trump by FALSELY reporting he has a lead in order too HELP Cruz...?

Do I have that right?

Care to explain WHY they would do this? What I mean is what is the strategy behind this?

...the blitz against Trump here is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. If you were here you’d know what I’m talking about...

Understood the first time you posted the idea. But do try to calm down a bit before posting again.

Indiana isn't the end for Cruz, it's only the beginning of the end for him.

I could say something aboot (aboot, that's the way Canadians say "about", you know) California, and a guy standing over a map in his bunker ordering movement of army divisions that no longer exist, but Godwin's law and all that...

Southern Indiana here. We’ve got this. No worry.

I’ve pretty much given up listening to radio in Ft. Wayne except for Gallagher on Patriot. I’ve talked to a lot of Trump supporters who are still whispering their support, not yelling it.. and the Rally was packed in Ft. Wayne yesterday.

I think Indiana will go Trump easily in the Primary... I worry about the general election, though. Go Trump!

FWIW, I read Indiana has some weird telemarketing laws that limit polling.

Ted Cruz pulled his whole campaign staff out and fled the state of Indiana yesterday after a poll came out showing Trump leading by 22 points. I don’t think you have anything to worry about. Ted is going to get schlonged tomorrow.

You’re right about WI but remember Trump TRAILED in all the polls for the 10 days BEFORE that voting and he was not expected to win. RCP has him UP in every poll over the past 7 days.

The strategy of reporting a big margin is to depress the vote reveived by the person leading in the polls. Th epogic is that if the preople think the poll leader is going to win big, then the poll leader doesn't need their vote. Same idea as the Florida panhandle fiasco, when the press called the state of Florida for Bush before polls closed in the panhandle. many Bush voters skipped going to the polls, the election had already been decided.

I don't think that strategy works in this election.

Even if Cruz gets all 59 delegates, it simply means Trump has to get 53% of the remaining delegates instead of the 47% he needs now. Losing the air of inevitability might hurt, but I doubt it at this point.

I agree completely. His campaigns slimy tactics turned me off to Cruz. And dont’ EVEN get me started about the GOP-E and the delegates mess.

I think it is odd that Cruz is now saying that IN is not critical for him. CA is now his last stand. IIMO Cruz's own internal polls are not good for him. He is now dismissing the importance of IN. His crowds are down.

Trump does not need to win IN. Cruz does. In fact, Cruz should have got out of the race a long time ago.

Cruz is meeting huge crowds, I mean yuge crowds. This morning there were 15-20 people waiting for him at a diner. Yesterday there was a yuge crowd of 200.

“..We’ve got this...”

Thanks!! the post had me worried and I had been starting to feel better. I am nervous that Cruz will somehow pull off a “Wisconsin” by way of the governor endorsement and the dirty talk show hosts, but Indiana is NOT Wisconsin thank heavens! and Cruz has had more time to show his true (awful) GOPee tactics.

Most of the media around the state I’ve heard is not so much pro-Cruz as anti-Trump. The Indianapolis Star published a full page editorial trashing Trump and endorsing Kasich. The anti-Trump diatribe consisted of nothing but insults and accusations with nothing to back them up. They gave no reason to support Kasich other than, I guess, that he’s not Trump.

If you can step outside of and watch your own mind, even when you are on the lookout for it, you can see your own brain getting warped and morphed by messages delivered over radio and TV.

It works in several ways, on several levels.

One way; I used to listen to Levin every day. Now, I am physically compelled to reach over and turn off the radio when he comes on. I find that find that kind of radical. Forget the reasons, my point is the (my own) reaction.

Another way; I trade stocks very actively. I absolutely can not and make it a point never ever to listen to anything I hear in the media as far as influencing me to make or take a trade. It’s a mind-wrecker. I am definitely not saying I am always right, indeed I am frequently wrong. But trading is not about being right or wrong, it is about being very willing to be wrong and cutting wrong moves short ASAP.

When you surrender to that outside influence, you really do surrender. The folks who pay millions or tens of millions of $$ to get on radio or TV, they are not patzers. They have very highly studied and evaluated and crafted crap to crowbar into your head and they are very successful at it. Scary successful at it.

I believe the only way to combat this is to realize how freaking scary it is to observe how much they can warp your own brain even right as you are watching it, even when you are on the lookout for it. It’s very powerful. This is not an undeveloped science.
