In 6 Months Since Budget Deal: Debt Up $1 Trillion

(CNSNews.com) - In the six months that have passed since then-retiring House Speaker John Boehner and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell cut a budget deal with President Barack Obama that suspended the legal limit on the federal debt until March 15, 2017, the federal debt has increased by just over $1 trillion.

The Senate passed “The Bipartisan Budget Act of 2015” with a vote held in the early morning hours of Friday, Oct. 30. Obama signed it on Monday, Nov. 2.

At the close business on Oct. 30, 2015, the total federal debt was $18,152,981,685,747.52. By the close of business on April 28, 2016—the latest date for which the Treasury has published the number--the total federal debt was $19,186,207,744,589.55.

That is an increase of $1,033,226,058,842.03.

On Monday, Nov. 2--the day Obama signed the Bipartisan Budget Act and thus suspended the debt limit--the debt took a big leap. It closed that day at $18,492,091,120,833.99—up $339,109,435,086.47 from its $18,152,981,685,747.52 closing on Friday, Oct. 30.

Prior to that, the part of the federal debt subject to the then-legal limit of $18,113,000,080,959.35 had been frozen just below that limit for more than seven months (from March 13, 2015 through Oct. 30, 2015), during a “debt issuance suspension period” that Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew had declared on March 13, 2015, to push back the date at which the debt limit would be exceeded.

What the devil did anyone expect? The damnable GOPe essentially gave the White Hut carte blanc on the checkbook.

This outcome was predicted, then, and it’s proving true, today.

One reason they don’t want trump in there is he will tell us what the debt is. It was last disclosed at the beginning of obamas last term. Before obamacare It’s probably well into the twenties. A guy with a family who takes two per year for eight years multi million dollar vacations at taxpayer expense. At someone else’s expense. Is not taking care of the budget nor the debt

It is likely very high

The Obama administration has left America deeply in debt. The level of government spending is unsustainable.

God help America to stand strong against those intending to destroy America.

Thou Lord can do anything, Help America now!

Thank Thee LORD, In Jesus name we pray. Amen.

Not only is no one in Washington serious about reducing the debt - they don’t even have the desire to slow down the rate it’s increasing. The train is heading for the cliff and I don’t believe there’s anything that can stop it at this point.

It will be well over $20 Trillion by the time Barky is scheduled to leave office. Maybe over $21 Trillion.

I join you in prayer but unless He lowers a gold ingot worth at least $130 Trillion dollars out of the sky, I don’t think this thing is going to be saved, financially.

The numbers are just too massive.

If you have not prepared, prepare a little bit. Many of us have.

It’s at 19.2T as of today. We’ll break 20T easily this year.

Sure glad I spent the time, money and energy to get a Republican-controlled Congress in there!

I just knew they would set things right...

Years ago his wife was reported to have spent over $100 million on vacations alone

I can only imagine the figure now - it would not shock me to learn her personal expenses as Consort to the Emperor exceed $1 billion over the past 8 years.

It was noticeable since the national debt clock went from $18.1 trillion to now $19.2 trillion.

Obama and congress reported the deficit at $450 billion. They’ll blame the extra $500 billion o prior years just so they can say this year was only $450 billion, which is a lie.

Won’t the ones that did not prepare at all, simply attack anyone that is not in their situation? How does one prepare for that?

The Obama administration has left America deeply in debt. The level of government spending is unsustainable.

The (R) majority in The House voted for it just as my rep Mimi Walters did. Come on, Orange County voters. Throw her butt out. Vote Greg Raths as an alternative.

Well, you need to be able to defend yourself. I expect crime is going to increase on all fronts.

Not a pretty situation either way. But I’ve known first-hand how much the economy is crashing. And I expect most are not prepared for it in any form. They listen to the lies of the MSM and keep counting on that government check to come in.

I expect they will, with tightening regulations. Like in Venezuela, you have to give your fingerprint to cash your food check.
