This site is now &%^@$& in my mind, but instead of just being an adult and accepting that the candidate I supported lost, I’m going to hep insults onto you all while I act like I’m a better human being.
And just that quickly my hubby HAS been banned.
What brought this about was that I was invited to another site of former freepers who have gotten tired of the constant bashing if they support another candidate than Trump.
I had noticed it but not gotten into the fight. Life has intruded so I read but don’t post much. However, I still sent money to at least 3 of 4 freepathons even tho I’m barely making min. wage and not many hours a week (THANKS Obama)
And in my defense of my candidate and against Trump, when does Trump EVER talk about the Constitution? He needs to read it before taking an OATH to defend it and understand how the Constitution limits the government.
I want someone who knows it & will govern it.

I am glad that this site isn’t clogged with choking ads. Breitbart almost qualifies as a denial of service attack.
It is one of the best sites out there to gain situational awareness or the day’s events.

There’s a mixture of opinions here. That’s fine with me. It’s easy to pass over the one I find useless.
I find it odd for people that pretend to love conservatism and the constitution more than the “trash” that supports Trump, they are always pulling their sign-up dates as if that makes them FR aristocracy, and therefore they have more authority than anyone else, and the permission to dump on anyone that came to this site after that point.
I agree with much of what you are saying, and I hope the silly season will end soon. FR should be able to tolerate support for more than one candidate (I voted for Trump six days ago, but I can do that and still admit that Cruz is a great conservative). FR should not have descended to the level where the Cruz-Trump debate centers on personal attacks. That lowering of the dialog is a big loss for these forums. The solution from here? I’m not as optimistic as I’d like to be, but I’ll continue suggesting that we return to facts and drop the personal attacks.
Yes, Cruz is still running against Trump even though Trump wants him to drop out. Yes, Trump is using name-calling as his means for criticizing Cruz. Still, we could do better. Trump will need those Cruz voters in November, and they really do have as many options as the Trump voters have. They may well stay home or vote third party in November if this keeps up. I suspect there are paid Hillary trolls stirring it up in the hope that they will take one of those options.
I hope FR and the rest of the Republican Party will wise up in time.

Well, the vast majority of people here on FR support Donald J. Trump, so it doesn’t really matter now does it? We all agree with Jim Robinson so there isn’t any “slavishness” involved at all. Quite frankly, if the reverse were true, I’d be looking for another outlet myself, because I could not, in good conscience, spend my time on a group who stood in opposition to my personal beliefs. I will continue to support Free Republic because the people here comport with my views, so if that’s not your cup of tea, you need to move on to one of those “other sites” to which you claim people are “flocking.” On top of all of that, FR is a whole lot more than just the current election. On a myriad of issues, there are substantive discussions here that help me to better undestand all elements.

Well, he wanted it and maybe he needs a safe zone where his feelings and alternative reality can be well-protected.
I’m at least taking a break. I’m fed up with knee-jerk insult replies to comments which the insulter (often an unfamiliar name) obviously didn’t even read what I said, just lead off with an insult because that’s the way we do it now.
And I’m tired of hearing about how we have to be like the left to defeat the left, and how social issues don’t matter. I’ve seen Christians, and Christianity, insulted on this forum, something I never thought to see at FR. That’s my line.
