AND NOW... amidst billowing clouds of fragrant, aromatic first- and second-hand premium cigar smoke... it is time for... that harmless, lovable little fuzz ball, the highly-trained broadcast specialist, having more fun than a human being should be allowed to have, from behind the golden EIB microphone, firmly ensconced in the prestigious Attila-The-Hun chair at the Limbaugh Institute of Advanced Conservative Studies, serving humanity simply by showing up, and he's not retiring until every American agrees with him - do NOT doubt him - with shrieks of joy at the mere mention of his name (that's Rush, for those in Rio Linda), the Mandarin of Talk Radio, with talent on loan from G-d, at the cutting-edge of societal evolution, with half his brain tied behind his back - just to make it fair, the all-knowing, all-caring, all-sensing, all-feeling, all-concerned Maha-Rushie! America's anchorman, truth detector, and doctor of democracy. A real man, a living legend, a way of life. Commander-in-Chief of U.S. Operation Chaos. Chief Waga-Waga El Rushbo of the El Conservo Tribe. Chief of the Patriotism Police. Leader of the Conservative Movement. A Weapon of Mass Instruction. El Rushbo (a little Spanish lingo, there). He is the man who is running America (you know it and I know it). He knows the Democrats like every square inch of his glorious naked body. He is ready to do what he was born to do - host. Get ready to what you were born to do - listen. And post your comments on the Rush Limbaugh LIVE Radio Thread.

I didn’t know he said that. See, I didn’t watch Cruz’s final meltdown. I’m wondering if Cruz might not be gay, lol! What a weird and creepy thing to say. All Trump did was retweet a photo of Melania and Heidi. I never thought Heidi was bad-looking.

It seems to be a political alliance, she frequently mentioned “we are running”, and some kind of Partnership Presidency.

Sound familiar?

Yes, Rush is still backpedaling and trying to show how well Cruz did. It’s not the establishment, it’s the voters. Cruz kept saying x% of the voters don’t want Donald Trump all the while ignoring the fact that even more didn’t want him? Almost his entire campaign was fought from behind and reactionary. After awhile, he totally went off his message and was all about attacking Trump...lost his way.

Rush, I posted this to the Levin thread in March:

For me, it's not about aligning around my principles, it's about aligning around my goals. I can tolerate a less principled candidate as long as I think he's best positioned to achieve my goals. Of course, there is a minimum principles line I won't cross, but I don't think that Trump is anywhere near that line. But we have to win the election first for any of it to matter, and I don't think the "principled" Cruz has the general crossover appeal to win.

So what are my goals? Right now, they are simple: first, build the wall; second, screw Mitch McConnell. We can go from there.

So who's in the best position to do that?

Not unworthy!

You’re right, Cruz was not the establishment’s first choice (Jeb was). But Rush made it sound like Cruz was their least-favorite, which he wasn’t, since they took him over Trump.

You also touch on a very important point: Trump’s prior public celebrity made it impossible for the MSM and GOPe to paint him the way they wanted to. He already had a public image and the public was interested in him.

As I said from back in September, if you keep engaging Trump on Trump's terms, you're going to lose. That's the mistake all 16 candidates running against Trump made. They all danced to the tune Trump was playing, and they all had to pay the piper in the end.

None of them learned after watching the Jeb debacle. Trump could have been defeated, but every candidate played it wrong. Heck, what was Cruz's strategy for the past two months? "I'm not Donald Trump!"

Oh yes, I definitely recall her saying that.

I don’t think she loves him. A wife who loves her husband does not dodge his affections.

And that clip up thread show me that he has no concept of where she is at all.

I am a loyal Rush listener and I am staying.

I'm not going anywhere, and I'll be back. Probably tomorrow, LOL. I just can't stand any more of this stinkin' Cruz-fest today. I've listened to months and months of this crap.

I've been a loyal Rush listener since March 1991, and I'm a 24/7 member. I think my 24/7 membership renews in August... I'm not certain I'll renew it though.

Meanwhile over on WRKO, Jeff Kuhner just gave a big shout out to FReepers! :-)

I’ve been listening to Rush since 1989, but he is very close to the edge of losing me. If you wanted to do a half-hour postmortem on the Cruz candidacy, fine. But, Cruz is out. Time to rally against Hillary. This droning on and on is miserable.

I think what adverting_guy is alluding to is sound speculation that Hillary won't be the nominee. The exact mechanism by which she drops out is isn't known, could be health excuse, brokered convention because super delegates don't adhere to her, mailgate, or just crappy polling. If and when Hillary drops out, the machinations on the DEM side will be spectacular. Bernie won't get the nomination, he's too weak, not "inside" the DEM power structure. He's an outsider just as much as Trump is, but for different reasons.

I’ve been watching David Limbaugh who was a foaming at the mouth Cruz toady and Trump hater.

I firmly believe that reflected R Limbaugh’s mindset.

What ever happened to the notion that brothers always have to agree with each other?

My ancestors (dunno if they were brothers) fought against each at Gettysburg. One ancestor fought in a PA regiment; the other one in a Tenn. Rgt. Don't believe they agreed with each other on the role of gov't. Are Rush and David close?

I think Reagan would have upgraded his Conservatism as we have over time.

Issues that he may not have gotten right in his day, he would see more clearly today.

His amnesty is one such issue. Trade deals would be another.

It was the outcome of such policies that have impacted our views.

Exactly. There are SO many examples why Trump labeled Cruz "Lyin' Ted". Nearly everything out of the guy's mouth was a lie.

And from Day One I never thought Cruz could win the general election, whether he lied constantly or not.

Has Rush congratulated Trump yet? I've had the radio off for quite awhile...

A wife who loves her husband does not dodge his affections.

Remember that awkward kiss between Al and Tipper Gore when he won the nomination in 2000?

Where are they now?
