'Have to do the right thing and that's the way I've been guided'
Donald Trump, in a Wednesday interview on Morning Joe on MSNBC, doubled down on his previous calls to stem the tide of Muslim immigration calls that set him at fierce odds with civil-rights activists and pro-Muslim organizations and said he didnt care so much about hurting his presidential chances as about protecting America from danger.
The question posed to Trump was this: Do you still believe Muslims should be banned from entering the country until we can figure out whats going on?
The Stop Hillary campaign is on fire! Join the surging response to this theme: Clinton for prosecution, not president
And Trumps response was blunt.
I dont care if it hurts me, he said. Im doing the right thing when I do this. And whether its Muslim or whether its something else, I mean, I have to do the right thing and thats the way Ive been guided. And Ive been guided by common sense, by whats right.

He was very careful not to answer the question.
Hillary would have Huma and CAIR in the room next to the Oval Office.
Not slow, STOP, until we know what we’re dealing with. Otherwise the feds may very well be allowing an enemy invasion, and protecting the states from enemy invasion is an expressed constitutional duty of the feds (Art IV, Sec 4).
We do have to be careful....look at Germany, Italy, and across the other foreign countries...
Look what happened in San Bernadino, it can happen again...
I agree with Trump...we shouldn’t be letting anyone in until we can set up a better program to vet these people...
AMERICA FIRST!!!
and push Congress, even the RNC to do it NOW, don’t wait til Trump is in office. Or until another attack underscores the wisdom of his plan.
Yeah Baby
That’s our man
DON’T back down from the hissing snakes of the Leftist Enemedia
Yes, the national election is on and great to see Trump laying down a clear first marker. Clinton owns whatever comes of Muslims coming here—terrorism, violence, Sharia, whatever.
Wouldn’t that be nice.
Trump will stick to his plan.
Trump for President. He still must get 1237 to stop a brokered convention which the communists left want to happen.
When before he was unequivocal - ban Muslims from entering. Obviously Trump is going into campaign mode and one has to wonder what other promise he'll walk back next.
What part of his response was equivocal in any way? He didn't walk anything back.
He did answer the question. See comment 1.
For Trump to acknowledge that limiting Muslim immigration may HURT his campaign instead of helping it speaks volumes about how far we have sunk as a nation.
Imagine if FDR 'worried' about limiting Japanese immigration in early 1942 ...
Europe will burn if they don’t take corrective measures against this death cult VERY soon.
Hopefully we won’t make the same mistake and stay safe behind the Wall
Go Trump!
Yes, Trump is on the side of the Angels when it comes to his plan to restrict Muslim immigration. Hopefully it will be a near TOTAL cessation of the invasion. We need to defend Trump from all attacks from the politically correct minions and the Islamists & their allies.
Trump is correct, of course.
I wish he had a deeper ability to communicate WHY he is right. That would demonstrate two things:
1) An ability to articulate his position so that others can see his wisdom, and
2) That he has that depth behind his position so that we can trust him on other things.
Without saying WHY, he leaves open the possibility that he’s unconvincing and shallow. I don’t mind his position; but I want to see it supported so that it changes minds and demonstrates continuous leadership people can trust.
No question. Donald needs to attack the invasion from the top.
S/B Muslim terrorist Tashfeen Malik had her K-1 fiancee visa approved even though:
(1) she openly posted about committing violent jihad on social media,
(2) gave a falsified Pakistani street address, and,
(3) was a Pakistani migrating from Saudi Arabia (an unusual living arrangement for a single Muslim woman).
Malik was screened by (1) US Homeland Security officials, (2) the US State Department, (3) a third screening after applying for a green card, the NY Times reported.

Homeland Security seeks $41.2 billion budget for 2016
February 4, 2015 By BioPrepWatch Reports
Homeland Security Secretary Jeh Johnson announced a $41.2 billion budget request Monday for the 2016 fiscal year.
The budget would improve the unity of effort at the department, Johnson said, focusing on harmonizing DHS business processes. Along with the budget, a new Common Appropriations Structure was also submitted to Congress, which would standardize financial planning, programming and budgets for all DH agencies, Johnson said.
There are five areas the department focuses on each year, and the budget is in alignment with those five missions, Johnson said.
<><> The first mission is to prevent terrorism and enhance security in the country by implementing security for the land, air and at sea.
<><> The next mission is to secure and manage the countrys borders, and reduce the number of illegal immigrants and amount of contraband getting into the United States.
<><> The third mission includes enforcing and administering immigration laws and providing safe and secure detention of illegal immigrants in federal custody if they are a flight risk or a public safety concern.
<><> The fourth mission deals with safeguarding and securing cyberspace, which impacts economic security. The 2016 budget would invest in technology and staff to reduce cybercrime and improve the security of federal network defenses.
<><> The fifth mission, Johnson said, is to strengthen national preparedness and resilience so the country can prepare and respond to any type of disaster.
Johnson said before Congress approves any funding for the next fiscal year lawmakers should approve funding for the current year.
The Presidents FY 2016 Budget provides the resources necessary for the Department of Homeland Security to further strengthen our efforts to fulfill our wide-ranging missions, while also being agile and vigilant in the face of ever-evolving threats and recent world events, Johnson said. But prior to acting on the FY 2016 Budget, I urge Congress to fully fund DHS for the rest of this fiscal year, as the current continuing resolution is disruptive, creates uncertainty, and impedes efficient resource planning and execution.
