"Jeff’s listeners want Newt for VP."

The conservatives in the Boston area ( the ones that remain ) and NH, are on the cutting edge IMHO. It is were I first heard the angst that lead to the Trump Movement. Maybe their is some wisdom from his listeners in their Newt recommendation...

Hannity likes Newt too. Has him on the show a lot. I think Hannity has also mentioned Newt for VP.

I love Newt but don’t want him for the VP nod. A major part of Trump’s appeal is as an outsider. Newt, fair or not, is perceived as the ultimate insider. I think Newt would make a much better chief of staff used to deal with congress.

Two old white men would kill the ticket. That goes for Kasich too and others. Trump needs either Rubio or some other young preferably Hispanic candidate who can campaign with the same fire as Trump.

I’m warming to the idea.

Trump said he wants a VP that will be terrific and that will really know well how to get business done with Congress.

The only reservation I can think of is Newt is not new and carries some old baggage.

But Newt has pretty much remained a true conservative and has only made a few mistakes, maybe even less than Donald.

Could be a great team.

Carson fits the bill. Ben is gentle and intelligent, but he lacks experience working with Congress which Donald mentioned would be a good thing to have.

Does he get no credit for the "Contract with America" in your eyes?

Agreed. Newt should be top-of-food-chain Cabinet, though.

Jeff’s listeners want Newt for VP.

Newt has bee around too long to be VP. Give Newt a job as key advisor. Trump will respect his opinion and partly because Newt is an old war horse about the same age as The Donald.

For VP Trump needs someone who would be fresher on the national scene. Perhaps a Republican governor
