Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump said Wednesday that he was open to raising the federal minimum wage, breaking with the prevailing view of his party.

“I’m actually looking at that because I am very different from most Republicans,” Mr. Trump said in an interview on CNN’s. “You have to have something that you can live on.”

But, in general, the protective system of our day is conservative, while the free trade system is destructive. It breaks up old nationalities and pushes the antagonism of the proletariat and the bourgeoisie to the extreme point. In a word, the free trade system hastens the social revolution. It is in this revolutionary sense alone, gentlemen, that I vote in favor of free trade.

not true. Misappropriated blame here.

The our choices of open sex before marriage, irresponsibly personal financial management and occasional personal family tragedy, leftist entitlement policies and lack of charitable rehabilitation cause subsidies by government.

It is not that business isn’t being rxtorted right by socialist nonsense policy or law

You are a typical nasty socialist. A know nothing gimmee gal.

“ust like the Income Tax, the Minimum Wage will never go away. There is no putting the Genie back in the Bottle.”

You based your conclusion upon a false and defeatist premise.

Here’s a novel premise...elect real constitutional conservatives and we’ll be amazed at the leftist policies and laws err can roll back.

When you elect a populist you’ll get what you wanted...what’s popular....but no conservative change.

America is getting the leader she deserves

Cut the taxes on small businesses and corporations and you cut the taxes that everyone pays in the form of price hikes on everything from services to consumer goods.

No, wages should be pegged to the market, supply and demand.

Lol. I doubt you have a clue as to Marx and Engels advocacy for what they saw as evil being the means to secure their end, the One World State.

Pathetic.

The minimum wage has been raised 22 times. We can stand one more. It only hurts the poor anyway and they are voting for Clintoon.

Yes, make it like Social Security. Seems those who make that loudest noise vs. a minimum wage increase go ballistic if SS isn’t increased to their liking. Well, just can’t have it both ways, folks.

No, wages should be pegged to the market, supply and demand.

Why do corporations get to import H-1b visas holders to undercut US workers? Is that supply and demand working like it should?

It’s all hot air. Take everything said on these side bar issues with a grain of salt.

So the defense of Trump now is "don't worry, he's just lying to get elected"? How do you know he wasn't just lying to get the nomination?

Use a calculator of your choice. But if I linked to another one, someone would be complaining that I didn’t use the “official” one.

The point still stands. There was an assertion that $1.25 in 1960 would be around $15 today. That assertion was false; it would be just over $10 today.

No doubt......but he did say he’s a different Republican?....whatever that means. But folks are certainly going to find out.

"That assertion was false; it would be just over $10 today."

You're right. I accidentally entered 1968 and came up with around $9.50 but from 1960 it would be $10.00 and change now.

Trump knows that minimum wage jobs are designed for college and high school students...Plus Trump’s plans are contingent upon bringing jobs from China...Much higher paying jobs...

I saw that as Trump just trying to shut up the Wolf in sheep’s clothing...The moron was firing questions like he was shooting a machine gun...And then he wouldn’t let Trump answer most of them...
