Russia offers free land to all citizens willing to move to the Far East

Call it the Muscovite version of "manifest destiny." On Monday, President Vladimir Putin signed into law a bill that offers every Russian citizen a tract of land in their country's remote Far East.

"All citizens will be entitled to apply for up to hectare of land in the Kamchatka, Primorye, Khabarovsk, Amur, Magadan and Sakhalin regions, the republic of Sakha, or the Jewish and Chukotka autonomous districts," the Moscow Times reports. This is a vast stretch of territory spanning the upper Arctic reaches near Alaska, down to islands off the coast of Japan and deep into the Siberian hinterland.

Those interested in the venture can hold their hectare (about 2.5 acres) free of payment or tax for five years. After that, they would receive titles to their plot provided they have put it to use in the prior years.

They do this on 1/10th of an acre...

...in Southern California.

It'd be tough to replicate the Dervaes' results here in Pennsylvania, let alone Siberia.

And in Alaska 90% of the land is federal parks

If there aren’t any foreigners around, then they’ll squabble and call each other farmers and rice buckets, but when there is a foreigner in the mix - it’s a solid, united front of Chinese.

Remarkably similar to the behavior of my dad's family.

2.5 acres? C’mon Vlad, you can do better than that. (Just in case Hillary wins)

And just in case the Russian defense of Siberia is too daunting, the Chinese are also salivating over underpopulated, under-defended, politically correct Australia, preoccupied with global warming and the rest of Western Decadence, just a little to the south.

Russia would be a tough foe.

But the Australians--if they're as enchanted with Europe as the seem to be--might even pay the Chinese to invade and conquer them.

No Vlad, it’s going to have to be a huge ranch, at least 1,000 acres.

You’d be amazed at how much my mother-in-law grows on a far smaller piece of land.

My wife tells me that the locals don’t believe they will actually retain title to the land if they take this offer.

Sorry Vlad. Make it a thousand hectares, and I get to pick, and you got a deal.

“Russia cannot reproduce itself. Mostly abortions from “westernized” Muscovite women.”

Except for a very recent, small uptick in births, Russia has been in demographic decline for a long time. The abortion rate was very high in the former Soviet Union long before “Westernization” arrived in Moscow.

I have heard the in Russia most females have had at least one and sometimes many abortions.
As they use abortion as a form of birth conttrol.?
Great.

Wow! That is amazing. The guy’s children, though, definitely look like they are old enough to be married, but I guess they don’t have time for dating.

Even so - even before abortions, Siberia was empty.

Inhospitable.

Nothing grows in arctic tundra snow. Bring back the wooly mammoth and Russian land is valuable again.

They must have changed their land laws. In the early 1990s you could get long term leases but not own the land.

"...This is actually a feint against the growing Chinese influence in Eastern Russia..."

Thanks for saying this.

It's straight out of "Camp of the Saints", which as we know predicted everything currently going on with the demographic destruction of Christian Europe. It also predicted this, above.

A great footnote in history: The Jewish Oblast!

Not a single person I talk, Jew or not, has heard of it.

"...the Chinese are also salivating over underpopulated, under-defended, politically correct Australia,..."

FReeper Jeff Head wrote about that exact dynamic in one of his novels. In it, the Chinese invade Australia.
