Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry told CNN Thursday he will support Donald Trump as the Republican presidential nominee and will do everything he can do to help him get elected.

"He is not a perfect man. But what I do believe is that he loves this country and he will surround himself with capable, experienced people and he will listen to them," Perry said Thursday.

I would expect that ALL primary candidates, who took the pledge to support whoever won, would support the winner? Else they are liars and hypocrites......

Republicans enter any presidential election with a big disadvantage in the electoral college. I think we need to be the Big Tent party in order to beat Hillary—just so long as everyone realizes they have to line up behind Trump and not the other way around. They get to stay in, but Trump (and his supporters) will be the one running the show now. Looking at what Perry said, I think he clearly understands that.

There are a few really egregious types that we would do better to never have on our side, but looking at Perry’s positions, I don’t think he should be one of them. Perry isn’t one of my favorites, but he is certainly not to blame for that litany of D.C. establishment failures, and we shouldn’t reject his support.

Remember that Trump said just yesterday that he’s beginning to get calls from people that want to jump on his Trump Train that said “HORRRRRIBLE things about me” and he asked them how come you now want to support me?

two things:

Trump is very smart - knows how to read people.
Paul Manefort also knows a thing or two about people in DC.

Perry was governor of Texas and former candidate for president. He just endorsed Trump. I would think that would make Trump supporters, who are calling for party unity now that the primary is over, happy. But he is welcomed for his statement of support by being called a whore. Talk about "healing."

I've never been a real big fan of Governor Perry, but still.

I wasn't speaking of Perry specifically. But I understand. Politicians are like prisoners in the joint. The place is full of innocent people according to most of them. Ask almost any politician if they take any responsibility for decades of mismanaged reckless government at the at the fed or state level. They all blame someone else. And it goes on and on.

Not my comment, so why don't you direct that to the person who said it? I have zero power over what others say.

The Latest: Illinois’ GOP governor won’t endorse Trump

A couple lines from a Jethro Tull song,

“The leaded window opened
to move the dancing candle flame
And the first Moths of summer
suicidal came.”

“Life's too long (as the Lemming said”

A bunch of the Republican leadership is currently committing political suicide. They will not be missed.

Donald is accepting Rick (open borders) Perry's endorsement after THIS??

"Let no one be mistaken Donald Trump’s candidacy is a cancer on conservatism and it must be clearly diagnosed, excised, and discarded," Perry said during a speech in Washington, D.C.

If I were Donald, I'd tell Perry what he could do with his endorsement.

Perry also called Trump's controversial comments on Mexicans bringing drugs and crime across the border "offensive." (??!!)

http://www.washingtonexaminer.com/perry-trump-doesnt-get-it/article/2567619

Donald's remarks about Mexicans bringing drugs and crimes across the border is offensive??

No statement could be MORE true. They flood over our borders daily in droves, bringing drugs, and are responsible for committing multitudes of crimes such as rape, robbery and murder against the people Perry was supposed to help protect- and Abbott is proving to be no different (empty promises to get elected.) Since he's the new governor, nothing. CRICKETS. The daily horde of Mexican criminals flood is worse than ever!

“if you say that we should not educate children who have come into our state for no other reason than they’ve been brought there by no fault of their own, I don’t think you have a heart. We need to be educating these children because they will become a drag on our society…This was a state issue. Texas voted on it. And I still support it today.” The audience booed Perry in response.

He was completely aware that In-State Tuition would encourage more invaders into Texas

Rick Perry Defends In-State Tuition for Illegals, Despite Tough Border

COPe, both of them- too spineless and cowardly to go against Obama's importing hordes of future rat voters and giving them welfare to the tune of almost $17,000 to bankrupt our state

Perry had a dilemma. He's a Texan like Cruz. What was he supposed to do??

I like Perry. Would like him as supervisor during the building of the wall.

"Hey Rick...this is Donald......How high is it now?? How does it look?? Send pics..."

Ha!! After we “burn their towns and salt their fields”— we would have pity on their sorry souls. Let me just tell you this. If Trump had been defeated by these rino bastard do you think there would have been mercy?

Really? Do you remember his blasphemy against Trump. He was the tip of the spear. He was the leader of #nevertrump. Now he slithers back begging for mercy. I say NO MERCY.
