I think you’re right.

The thing is that if we nominated another conventional GOP candidate, we’d probably suffer another conventional loss. Time to try something different and see what happens.

Just carve out all the cities and give them only one elector each.

His (Cruz) hard-core supporters would have written off whole chunks of the country by now.

Well they would have had to write off half the entire country - east of the Mississippi - as he didn't win a single primary state there. Not one.

But we're past that now.

I sincerely believe that Trump can be competitive in all 50 states. I'm tired of the GOP "writing off" states and not even competing in them. They don't even run candidates for local contests in some states. That's embarrassing and it is defeatist. You don't see the Democrats doing that.

Democrat voters are very apathetic this election cycle, very doable.

Reince’s “transformation” sure happened in a hurry. Here he is on May 4 coming off as quite defiant: What a difference a day makes?

We are at the point where over 40% of the people depend on welfare or bailouts or kickbacks or favorable regulations or whatever. All a Dem has to do is say, “I will give you more stuff!” Many people don’t even care that they are slaves shackled inside a sinking ship.

The last time even 65% of eligible voters managed to vote was 1908, according to what I have seen. A lot of the time since then it was way lower, like less than 55%.

So I guess it depends on who usually doesn’t bother to vote, and why they might or might not vote this political cycle.

The people Trump attracts vs. the people he repels vs. the people Hillary attracts vs. the people she repels vs. the dumbest 10% of voters who vote one way and then another who usually supposedly decide elections.

Some electoral history. Republican takeover---as of midnight 11/5/14.
(A caveat---some things have changed since then.) La, Alaska Senate races
went Repub. Arizona House recount elected a Repub.

Midterm Map courtesy of http://www.nationaljournal.com

<><> Republican sweep leaves 1-2 slivers of coastal territory, and splotches of interior to Dems,

<><> Democrats' new coalition includes Hollyweirdos, the one percenters, govt dependents, sex addicts, Viagra and condom users, abortion worshippers,

<><> Democrats control votes in the inner city, bodegas, payday loan mills, fast food joints, gangland strongholds, sleazy Hollywood motels, Indian reservations, pineapple plantations, tacoterias, Boston beaneries, coastal clam shacks and surf shops.

Reince is really worried about losing his job.

In 2012 57.5 of eligible voters voted. There’s a huge amount of support out there for the person who can motivate their voters best.

I say a 50-state blowout for Trump should be the goal.

It has to be the goal in order to account for voter fraud. We lost the last election due to fraud and no one had any guts to contest it.

due to fraud

That's one of the things that I believe Trump will pursue.

He's an outlier.

He's not afraid to challenge the system.

That’s an amazing map.
IMHO the Founding Fathers likely had no idea how large cities would become, and that people living in cities would essentially decide who got elected to the Presidency.

Donald Trump has a message and an agenda that cuts across all party and state lines..
As Joe Bite-me one said....it’s a 3 letter word J.O.B.S!
Hilary has no message and only the only agenda she has goes to the highest bidder!

Can not stop the freeloaders from voting, but getting more of the hard working folks to vote will help turn the tide.

The more people are exposed to Hillary, the less support she will have.

Zactly. "Hillary" and "Trump" are both household names. Now it comes down to a popularity contest, at least in part. A significant part. If Trump can pressure her in a debate to go into screech mode, she is toast, imo, ala Howard Dean. I just hope that enough Dems stay home in November. House, Senate, White House.

In a 50\50 election, Ohio and Florida will go Republican. Virginia is tight but trending the wrong way. If Trump can take PA in addition to FL and OH, I don’t see a scenario that he loses. This assumes Trump holds Romney’s states.

With loon Beck he wouldn’t have even held Romney’s.
