Britains largest Islamic charity says it wants to break down barriers and portray Islam positively by launching a new advertising campaign which will slap the phrase glory to Allah on the side of London buses.
The new campaign by Islamic Relief is, ostensibly, targeted at raising donations for their Ramadan aid to Syria, but is attracting attention for the hundreds of buses which will be decorated with the phrase SubhanAllah, or Glory to Allah.

Our families in England and America did NOT fight and die for this garbage to simply walk in and take over.
Sorry, can't help but see the irony. Price of Empire and all that...
I am not a Londoner or even English, but I am British and ergo one of the very few people on FR who actually lives in the UK and is actually British.
There are good and bad points. We have a couple here who emigrated from the Philippines and now attend Latin Mass with us (the man is often the server).
Do you not agree London is slipping away at an accelerating rate?
“The US has to get England back in line.”

It’s comments like that one that led to the term Ugly American.
.
The same country that voted for a Muzzie Prez twice?
If it were “Nothing to do with the Govt or the British people” then you would also see strong Christian messages but you don’t and you won’t (under threat of hate crime prosecution/persecution).
Europe will no long be an ally of the US once the Muslim population is big enough to make it so. We need to get in the mindset of hunkering down. It is the reality of globalism.
Yes.
These are private companies who will or wont take such messages. The Govt cannot force them either way, as is right.
On your more general point, Chrsitianity is banned or any such in the UK. No, strong Christian messages are not clamped down upon.
should read not banned
Sure, you betcha. Parade around London with a sign board saying "Homo 'marriages' are consecrated by Satan" and on the other side "Abortion is Murder - This means YOU 10 Downing Street" and if there was a third side "Christianity is the only True Religion - Others are False" and see what happens. And refuse to serve degenerate pervs in your flower shop and see what happens. I realize things might not be much different hereabouts.
I come from a very long line of Brits on both sides of my parentage. I had hoped to retire in the area of my family ancestors, Devon, or maybe Cornwall, but a re-marriage, and the declining conditions of the UK have made me re-examine that idea. I do follow UK events and news quite closely, correspond with friends there and will be back to visit again soon. As a tourist, I like most everything about Britain except that in many places it has been taken over by foreigners with no love for it or any intention to assimilate. Florida may be a more realistic alternative for me at this point.
Well the joke in England is, if you say you're here because of the Empire, does that mean you'll leave in 200 years like we did?!
I mean they did get functioning government models out of the deal, and the Raj never amounted to more then 150,000 Brits in India.
Oh I agree, more people who actually care and are informed for the most part, follow/are supportive of Free Republic.
Whilst there has been a bigoted and unhealthy secular attack on Christianity in the UK (by liberals not Muslims)for decades, the faith still remains a part of British culture and life. In fact over Easter, the UK media was chock a block with Christian programming.
UK anti-abortionists and anti-gays DO protest and have done so. And have been allowed to so so, although one must admit not always freely. There have been times when its been stopped. I am not for one minute claiming such ‘anti-anti’ oppression dosent happen.
My remark was a general one, one gets the feeling in the US that they think Christianity is banned in the UK, or almost back to its underground roots. In fact thanks to black and other non-British Christians, the faith is actually having a resurgence.
As to refusal to serve, that’s a different issue, as that comes under legal laws of discrimination where business and working are concerned.
I rarely TOTALLY agree with other posts.
But, in your case, I make an exception!
I pray that it's not as bad as being reported but it sure looks pretty damning.
