Mike Lee: Trump 'scares me to death'
The Hill ^ | 5/11/16 | Rebecca Savransky

Posted on 05/12/2016 6:08:44 AM PDT by Sybeck1

Mike Lee(R-Utah) said Wednesday that he is not ready to endorse presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump

"I have not supported Donald Trump up to this point, I have not endorsed him," Lee said, according to The Washington Examiner.

"I have some concerns with him. He scares me to death; so does Hillary Clinton

. There is no easy choice right now." Lee had previously endorsed Ted Cruz

, before the Texas senator ended his presidential bid earlier this month. At the time, he said Cruz had a "proven record of fighting for our conservative values and for the issues that matter most to Americans."

The Utah senator said he plans to continue following the election and will make a choice in the future.

"I'll make the decision as best I can," he said, "but I'm not there yet."

Lee now joins several other Republican leaders, who have said they are not ready to endorse Trump or said that they don't plan to vote for the presumptive nominee in a general election.

Speaker Paul Ryan said last week that he was "just not ready" to endorse the presumptive GOP nominee.

Good to know that the Constitution means nothing to you. Duly noted.

Donald Trump’s Conservative Positions from Jim Robinson:

Build the wall.
Enforce the law.
Deport them all.
End sanctuary cities.
End anchor babies.
Slap a moratorium on muslim immigration.
Cut the taxes.
Cut the spending.
Cut the regulations.
Cut the government.
Cut the debt.
Cut the EPA.
Repeal ObamaCare.
Get the feds out and allow health insurance to be sold over state lines.
Send education back to states.
Get a handle on trade.
Make trade deals in our own best interests.
Bring back capital.
Bring back manufacturing.
Bring back jobs.
Strengthen the economy.
Defend the second amendment.
Defend religious freedom.
Appoint constitutional conservative judges.
Rebuild our military.
Bomb the hell out of ISIS (and take their oil).
End political correctness.
Take the GOP head-on.
Take the media head-on.
Take the liberals head-on.
And win, baby, win.
All of the above on a shoestring budget compared to most of the 16 competitors he’s defeated (after they spent 100’s of millions of donor bucks).
No PACs.
No big donors.
No party support.
What’s democrat about any of the above?
What’s not conservative?
What’s not to like?
And I’ll add a few more:
Redo the horrid Iran deal.
Take a serious look at NATO.
Require our allies to pay more for their defense.
Rebuild the Reagan Coalition and attract blue collar workers by making America first again on manufacturing, trade, secure borders, economy and jobs, jobs, jobs!
Make America Great Again!

Yes, and if there is one thing that can be learned from this election:

Beware of those who hide behind the moniker of “true conservative.” Maintain your regard for those who don’t just talk the talk (Limbo, national review, etc.) but have walked the walk:

Jeff Sessions!
NewT Gingrich!
Phyllis Schlafly!
Ben Carson
Sarah Palin
Jerry Falwell Jr.
etc.

Laura Ingraham has been truly excellent in clarifying the nonsense.

The faux “True Conservative” Nobles are merely globalist internationalist plants (wittingly and unwittingly; give some the benefit of the doubt that they are merely mistaken, like our friends the followers of Cruz) who support bad immigration, bad trade, and intractable foreign entanglements.

It is orthodox Christian to help those in need, and the USA has been blessed. But in a world ruled by human nature, it is prudent to consider the effect of trying to combine disparate nations by relocation of the inhabitants.

I will help feed a homeless in a shelter and help him get on his feet at the YMCA, Salvation Army, etc. I won't invite the homeless on my property to live in the guest room.

Fox just claimed that Paul Ryan represents the MOST conservative wing of the party.

He probably does, maybe we should wise up to the fact that there are no true conservatives representing us, only good talkers like Ben Sasse.

"The only conservative left in Congress".... JEFF SESSIONS... (according to non-other than El Rushbo)....ENDORSED and SUPPORTS Donald Trump!

SO what the hell is Mike Lee's problem, and the rest of the so-called "conservatives" (a word which has totally been devalued to the point of being MEANINGLESS ANYMORE!

Why is Jon Huntsman, a Mormon OK with Trump? Also, there is the speaker of the Utah State Assembly who announced for Trump before the caucus there.

They think that the Hilldebeeste will be soooo much better than Trump.

No, they just know that the graft & corruption that lines their pockets and keeps them the "ruling elite" will go away when Trump takes office.

That graphic seems pretty normal. 1/3 of the nation will vote D, no matter what. 1/3 will vote R, no matter what. 1/3 want to procrastinate and wait a while longer to see how things go. And 1/3 of each of those categories will remain squishy for a while. Those numbers shouldn’t change much over the next 4 months, and should be expected to have been seen at this point in every election over the past 30 years.

Eh, Mike Lee is looking to see if Trump will be holding a joint fundraiser with his campaign. It is, of course, all about the money.

What an idiot. It is the condition of this country that should scare him to death. Only one candidate has had the bells to address the issues square on, and the remedies are painful but obvious to anyone whose head is not in the sand. Scary? Yes, but consider the alternative: the end of our nation, subjugation and slavery for everyone.
