Hey, I resemble that remark! I joined in 1998! Is there a particular reason why my class is being zotted?
And by the way, I just made a donation of $50 this week and have been a Trump supporter ever since he announced. In fact, I'm hoping he'll rent my tagline!

What I've never really understood is the level of vitriol that some FR posters show every election cycle, in post after post, toward any one of the non-Demoncrat candidates. I just don't see that as being productive at all, and it really does start to get annoying to skim through all the non-constructive nastiness.
I absolutely detested McLame to the extent that I dropped out of the Repub party and became unaffiliated after he was nominated. But I wasn't on FR everyday blasting out nasty posts about what a closet liberal, leftist media pandering @hole he was, even though I thought it. How would that help anything? And in the end I did end up holding my nose & voting for the scumbag anyway, given the alternative being so much worse.
This time around I would have been far happier to support either Trump OR Cruz, especially relative to someone like McLame, albeit for different reasons. Yeah I was pretty disappointed in Cruz's cozying up to the GOPe types and other tactics of desperation as his goal started to slip away. But it didn't change his voting record and pro-conservative prior actions, which IMHO speak far more than a politician's words, especially during a heated campaign. I really didn't understand the extreme vitriol I read here regularly targeted at Cruz. I did at times wonder what had happened to FR.
As for Trump, I'm also a fan, although with some trepidation about what he might do. No doubt the guy loves America though, AND has common sense (which is no longer common), both of which will go a really long way. Most importantly though, I absolutely LOVE the way he handles the media, ignores PC BS, sticks to his guns, and otherwise isn't anything like the pathetic, doormat, whipping-boy Repub candidates we've seen ever since Reagan.
I don't see why JimRob has to tolerate lots of nasty comments against Trump, or any candidate he supports that might run against the Demoncrat socialist/communist agenda, on this site. How is that even remotely constructive? Constant nastiness against folks who you might not like but are NOT the enemy, doesn't help anything, and it gets people needlessly riled up against the wrong side.
I joined back in '98 for the same reason most folks did back then - out of extreme disgust and anger against the Clinton crime machine and the unbelievable level of crap they were getting away with. I was at the March for Justice, House Manager's rally, etc., trying to do what little I could to make an impact against the Clintons.
So here they are again, taking another shot at the WH. I agree with JimRob that crushing any chance those self-serving, POS, amoral criminals have of getting back the reigns of power is paramount. Constantly attacking the best fighting candidate the Republicans have put up in many years runs totally counter to that. And regardless, incessant nasty posts about either Trump, Cruz, or anyone else who would have gone up against the Clintons is counterproductive to the entire mission of FR.

I have been here since January 1998. I discovered FR the day the Lewinsky scandal broke on Drudge. I found FR because I was researching details on how Bill Clinton declared a huge part of Utah a “national monument,” whatever the hell that means.
FR inspired me to get involved in politics as a conservative activist. That is how I got to know the GOPe on the inside. That is why I have supported Trump for months. Thank you, Jim Robinson, for making this possible.

I would argue they just got bored with the claptrap now present and just quit coming. I see many of the old folks, male and female, pop up once and a while. I’ve checked on others and they still have active accounts but their last posts are spotty.
For many, those with rational minds, the forum is just not worth the effort.
