The US has activated a land-based missile defence station in Romania, which will form part of a larger and controversial European shield.
Senior US and Nato officials attended the ceremony in Deveselu, southern Romania.
The US says the Aegis system is a shield to protect Nato countries from short and medium-range missiles, particularly from the Middle East.
But Russia sees it as a security threat - a claim denied by Nato.

Russia says installing such shields in countries on its doorstep is a threat to its security.
"Who will this system be against?" President Vladimir Putin's spokesman, Dmitry Peskov, questioned. "To begin with the explanation we were given was a potential rocket attack from Iran... Now we know the situation has changed dramatically."

So President Obama has guaranteed Iran that they can have nuclear weapons in 10 years under the Iran capitulation agreement and we are telling the Russians we are building a nuclear defense shield in Europe to shield Europe from the nuclear weapons we have guaranteed that Iran can have.Something is missing here. I think it is called logic.

Just so I understand the logic here; we allow Iran to have the missiles to target Europe, then we spend $800 million to defend Europe against those missiles.
That’s a plan any neocon with investments in the defense industry can get behind.

This is important because a missile defense system is excellent at stopping population replacement by Mohammadans.
There is only 1 reason Obama activated this defense system, to STOP ISRAEL from Defending themselves against IRAN!!

This land based AEGIS system in Romania provides an arc of coverage out only a few hundred miles over that part of Europe.
Absolutely DOES NOT have the range to intercept ANY Israeli missile launched from Israel...or to stop any Iran missile aimed at Israel.
But we have provided Israel the technology, along with their own, to intercept Iranian missiles themselves.

If the USA had no offensive nukes, it wouldn’t be a threat. But there is no such thing as a “purely defensive” system when both sides are already pointing a gun at each other. It’s the same as bringing a bulletproof shield to a duel. A shield alone isn’t a threat, but a gun+shield is a greater threat than a gun alone.
So why does Russia get to have a shield and a gun but we don’t?

In Russia, politicians are basically appointed by a system that has been in charge for 100 years.
In America, politicians are like reality TV stars. Whoever has the best sound-bites wins
Russian cry while they stab you in the back. They invaded Ukraine, murdered 9000, and call them “Brothers”.
Damn straight its a threat to the Russians. We need to stop them in Eastern Europe before they get any ideas of going further.
Because it can enable first-strike capability, upset the balance of power, and reduces the effective decision-making time before pushing the big red button, making nuclear war more likely.
