Dozens of Methodist clergy members took a stand for equality on Monday in the hope that their church will re-evaluate discriminatory policies toward lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender individuals during its 2016 General Conference, which begins on Tuesday.
More than 100 pastors, deacons, elders and candidates for ministry in the United Methodist Church released a letter publicly coming out as LGBT just one day before the church’s top policy-making body convenes in Portand to consider roughly 1,000 legislative petitions.

no pardons, you say you are a Christian, a follower of Christ. But frankly, I don't see you in same company of Christians here at FreeRepublic and elsewhere who have bared their souls and are awaiting Christ's promise. In the last few years, I have seen a major transformation of His people from this world. They are being decoupled as it were. They know by the discernment of the Holy Spirit that something big is on the horizon. But not you. For whatever reason that is only known to your how heart, you are wedded to this world more than the world to come. For many who I know who don't want to let go, it is many reasons: wealth, fear, possessions, or sins that they cannot free themselves from.
Christ said He was coming soon. A thousand years to the Lord is as a day. Why do you mock Scripture and refuse to believe? Come to Him. Pray for guidance, and to be counted as worthy so as to escape the time of testing that is coming upon the whole world, and to stand before The Son of Man.
