A couple of points.
If Republicans needed a wedge issue for the 2016 General, this is one. Under the law, any 9th Grade boy can walk into the girls locker room at school and using a hidden camera, begin to video my grandchildren.
We have to be very careful how we "rebel" under this. Our opposition cannot simply be labeled as "anti-gay." We must been seen as "anti-pervert" and a huge Washington overreach into our local classrooms.
We need to make our opposition easy to understand, such as:
"Certainly there are people with gender problems, but to me that seems like a disease invented by lawyers and Washington bureaucrats with way too much time on their hands... and too much power too, rather than a real diagnosis from a real doctor like my children's pediatrician who has cared for them since they were babies."
"The president's daughters, Sasha and Malia go to a high-priced private school, but I wonder if some perverted boy forged a note from his parents, would the Secret Service let him in the shower with the President's girls while they showered after Phys Ed?"
"You know, when people like Obama and Mrs Clinton become lawyers, all they care about is what is so called "legal", in other words, what they can get away with. They simply have no respect for what the rest of know is right or wring."
PERVERTS ARE NOT A GENDER.
THRY ARE PERVERTS.
He should have told a sob story about how his wife Michael has a hard time going into the mens room when they first met.
Yet another reason for private schools or, better yet, home schooling.
The issues have always been, and remain: (1) calling things by their right name; and (2) personal privacy and sexual modesty. A "trans girl" is NOT a girl. He is still a boy. His psychological issues do not override the reality of his physical gender.
Our position is simply that boys and girls have privacy rights and that we should respect those rights. The public schools should not force boys and girls to shower and dress together. Period. And we must stand firm on the language. A "trans girl" is NOT a girl. He is a boy who wants to identify with the girls. He is still a boy. Trying to call him a girl is simply a lie.
Instead of talking endlessly about perverts and predators, we should say we can sympathize with people who have serious psychological confusions about their gender. We should treat everyone with dignity and respect. We support counseling and treatment to help people with this mental illness straighten out, as most of them eventually do. (It is reported that upwards of 90 percent of young people who go through such a phase grow out of it, which suggests treatment is the solution.) And we can agree on reasonable accommodations to provide trans people with privacy. But boys do not belong in girls' bathrooms, locker rooms, and showers, or on girls' athletic teams.
I dabble on several discussion boards in addition to FR. In my admittedly limited personal experience, not once has one of the gender-bender activists risen to defend showering together. They prefer to talk about bathrooms and say that all we need to do is put doors on the stalls. They go completely silent on showers, mostly silent on dressing rooms, and only very rarely engage on the question of athletic participation. "Perverts invading the bathrooms" is not the winning way to frame the issue. "High school boys and girls shouldn't be showering together" is a winner. "Boys shouldn't be playing on girls' sports teams" is a winner. A little message discipline is important.
I don't imagine Obama will ever be asked if Sasha and Malia shower with boys, and whether Obama would approve of this. He should be. If we had an honest press corps, he would be.
Written law cannot be applied to purely imaginary states.
This is Sodom and Gomorrah. I will pull my kids out of school in a nanosecond.
It should only be a matter of time until girls sports teams have males identifying as girls wanting to join their teams.
'Little Johnny likes football too much, and lately refused a school assignment to bring a photograph of himself in a dress. We're afraid he may be a Genderist.'
The president has no authority whatsoever over public schools. Those are the domain of their respective school boards or state education agencies.
Tell him to ... Well, you figure it out.
Ah, but if State govt starts to call out the emperor has no clothes; let alone no Constitutional authority, the whole house of cards starts to tumble.
The DoEd says....Their is no authority for the DoEd
We’ll pull funding...We’ll stop sending $$ to D.C.
Sooner or later, one will have to give, or the Peoples eyes begin to open. Govt does not like when the People are in the know/aware.
Dear Comrade Chairman FlexObumble,

Will this apply to all the Arabic language (Islamic) charter schools that have sprung up all across the country?
fascism, plain and simple.
We have finally crossed over into Bizzaro World.
The petty dictator “decrees” a lot.
“Our opposition cannot simply be labeled as “anti-gay.”
Most drag queens are not homosexual. They’re mentally deranged men who like to pretend to be women. Many are married with no desire to have sex with a man. This is classic Bruce Jenner.
Now this open lawlessless in public schools should be the last straw. The dream of every 12 year old boy is get in the girls bathroom and sneak peak. Well now they can not only sneak a peak they can bring their video camera in with them and make movies and then take a shower with the little girls.
Obama has gone stark raving crazy. All parents that love their children will not expose them to anything this dangerous. I’ll go further. Obama should be impeached and kicked out of office for putting the nations children in danger. He’s a damn madman. No sane grown-up can agree with letting little boys and girls use the same bathroom and take showers together.
The only thing that needs to kept in mind is that the President cannot legislate. It is perfectly legal and proper to ignore any decree.
First, if the states are already accepting funds for agreed-upon purposes, it is coercive and unconstitutional to withdraw all the funding by adding new provisions.
Second, it is Congress, and not the President, who sets the purposes of the funding. Obama cannot add new spending requirements on his own and then withhold the funding for non-compliance.
So the SCOTUS ruling on the Medicare expansion of Obamacare should be precedent to stop Obama from using federal funding supplements to schools to coerce them into accepting new bathroom political policies.
