‘We’re running a f—ing casino:’ Politician tells all in manifesto
New York Post ^ | May 13, 2016 | Carl Campanile

An anonymous congressman has dropped a bombshell election-year book that confirms why Americans hate their national government and have rallied to anti-establishment presidential candidates like Donald Trump.

The veteran politician lays bare a rotten and corrupt Congress enslaved by lobbyists and interested only in re-election in an anonymous, 65-page manifesto called “The Confessions of Congressman X.”

“Like most of my colleagues, I promise my constituents a lot of stuff I can never deliver,” he admits. “But what the hell? It makes them happy hearing it . . . My main job is to keep my job.”

The House member — a Democrat who is either still in Congress or served sometime over the past two decades — says more time is spent fund-raising than reading bills and calls Washington a “sinkhole of leeches.”

If we didn’t have presidential term limits you’d be looking at another term of Obama. And don’t tell me to get off my ass. Your argument holds no sway with me. It’s the definition of insanity. Let’s not try it because burroak says it makes his ass ache. Yup, that’ll do it.

>I am sure many congressmen think this way, but they learn to keep their thoughts to themselves, or they would be out of job.

I’m calling shenanigans. Just look at the re-election rate of govt...high 90%, IIRC.

Like their own brood/snow-flakes, it’s not THEIR’s that’s the problem...it’s YOUR critter.

Regardless if it’s a fake or not, IMO, we all know the sentiment is true. We the People just refuse to do anything about it, but bitch (at least those that are getting fleeced).

I sure hope to Hell, if Trump gets in, there’s a REAL shake-up. The gnashing of teeth and screams of anguish from D.C. will be music to (most) our ears.

>Term limits would compel good legislators to be ousted along with the useless.

An oxy if I ever heard one. IE: There ARE no ‘good’ legislators. Govt doesn’t FIX problems. Never has, never will.

Our Republic fell the same way as any other govt in the past of Human History: Make work while stuffing the pockets of the insiders.

The random NYC phone book grows in me more and more.

Bravo. Hope it gets widespread attention.

A lot of low info voters are not stupid; they are busy from sunup to sundown. They get their news from their friends or on the fly from tv. We need them to hear this. And it had to be a Dem to say it, too.

I wish that were true. Casinos are highly profitable and the house usually wins.

Oh, it’s true. And the “House” definitely wins. No one comes out of it poor.

Loser? Only to those that don’t wish to see.

Can you point me to anything to the contrary? Seems we just had the ‘great GOP’ revolution v2.x and all we’ve gotten is MORE govt (no battle vs. exec. amnesty, no battle vs. O’Care, no battle vs. PP). Hell, they can’t even defund Sesame St. nor NPR.

Boehner’s 3-day online before voting...tossed by the wayside. A full reading of all bills (HA). Show votes (how many times w/ O’Care...before the (R) Re-rev), insider trading, going in poor coming out NOT so ‘poor’....

Please, show me. Expecting the entrenched to root themselves out. Loser, indeed *Pft*
