Why Donald Trump should be President.
In December 2014, Peter Economy of Inc. magazine wrote, The Top 10 Skills Every Great Leader Needs to Succeed. Trump has them all.
1. Inspires and motivates others.
My favorite example is Jim Herman, who at 38 won his first PGA tournament on April 3, 2016. Herman tried for years to make the PGA but gave up on his dreams a decade ago, and settled in as an assistant pro at Trump National in Bedminster, New Jersey.
I got into a nice conversation with Donald, Mr. Trump, one day. Hes like, Why are you folding shirts and giving lessons? Why arent you on the Tour? Ive played with tour players, youre good enough. I dont know, maybe something like that gives you more confidence, Herman told Simon Evans of Reuters after winning the Shell Houston Open...

Very good article. Thanks for posting,
This was an interesting read. I’m still not certain where my vote will end up in November, but this article does a good job of looking past Mr. Trump’s public bravado on the stump and bringing up cogent points from his past that give insights into the positive aspects of his character, which frankly interests me more at this stage than his policy positions.
If the choice is Clinton or Trump how could you be undecided? I’m not trying to be obnoxious or ruffle your feathers or anything, I’m trying to understand your thought process.
They couldn’t two more polar opposites. Trump represents free market problem solving and Clinton top down, centralized control.
SHillary’s a crooked bitch... Trump ain’t ...
Who else could you POSSIBLY be considering? Any other vote helps hillary. Do you really think the nation would survive that? If you're a mother or grandmother or plan to be, is THAT what you want your descendants to see as the role model of a successful woman?
Think about it.
Donald Trump is successful at just about anything he does. Why?
Because he tries to empower those with whom he works, and in many cases he is successful. You will see this when he exercises his dutoes as president of the United States.
Democrats almost always fail, because they do not empower people, they make them dependent on government and charity.
This is exceptionally true of Hillary Clinton. She knows nothing about genuine leadership.
From the article: “ I learned he is no joke. He has developed the leadership skills needed to lead the free world.”
That became obvious to many of us early Trump supporters. The world needs leadership that is more than just “I’ll give you money if you go along with my policies.”
I wouldn’t confine Trump to a pre-set list of 10 characteristics of successful leaders. There have been very different, very successful leaders, even within the same occupation.
In terms of comparing the leadership qualities of Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, Hillary is a political animal. She is all about serving the special interest groups that comprise the Democratic Party. She has only been successful in being elected U.S. Senator from New York State, a very Democratic state. She flubbed health insurance as First Lady. She did not succeed in getting any meaningful legislation passed as a U.S. Senator. She lost to Barack Obama in 2008. She is losing to Bernie Sanders (!) in the primaries and will be the nominee of the Democratic Party only because the super-delegates say it’s “her turn.”
In comparison, Donald Trump has demonstrated substantial success in the worlds of real estate development and entertainment, and has already re-written much of the book on running for President. (We seeing him transition from winning the nomination to the next phase of his campaign, and things may start to look different.)
In terms of style, Hillary works through layers of bureaucracy, making transparency and accountability difficult. This is a typical political approach. For her, the appearance of making a decision is avoided, and when a decision cannot be avoided, the decision is made deniable.
Trump is an entrepreneur, keeps his advisors close to him, trusts his intuition, and is adept at modifying his position or changing it altogether. This style is refreshing but can be frustrating. I’ll just say that it’s very different from the style of politicians and their carefully calibrated statements that say nothing.
At the same time that Trump is an hands-on leader, he is also demonstrated an ability to direct a multi-faceted, multi-national enterprise (or, set of enterprises), and to do this for many years in a constantly changing world. This demonstrated tremendous ability to work with and through others, delegating authority, setting the corporate image and communication.
While Trump Enterprises is very large, it is dwarfed by Fortune 100 companies, which in turn are dwarfed by the size of the federal government. Nevertheless, Trump would come as prepared to be President as any Governor, Cabinet officer or General, in terms of the size and complexity of his executive experience. Clinton’s four years of experience at State is not very good. For all the shortcomings of the Iran deal, Secretary Kerry has done a much better job.
I won’t beat you up about being undecided. However, if you say that his character is important to you, then also analyze Hillary in the same way. There is simply no comparison - he wins that race before she even gets out of bed.
You are moving in the right direction: that leadership is ALL about character. Truly understand that, and you will not be undecided.
For the longest time, I could not understand how so many people, including intelligent business leaders and otherwise smart people, never saw the disastrous Obama coming. I saw it long before he was elected in 2008, that he was a phony with nothing but empty air and a desire to destroy the US during his time as president.
Fast forward to today. I am similarly amazed that so many intelligent people are not seeing Trump as the winner, successful businessman and real estate developer that he is. They see the same man as I see, but instead see him as a crazy, evil man, unqualified to be president, who will destroy the US worse than Obama has or Hillary will...and these are my fellow Republicans. One friend who is a distraught Cruz supporter, says Tump is far and away the worst candidate for president ever. Really?
But I see Trump differently. I see him as the man we need right now in DC to start cleaning up the mess.
So I agree with you. Trump will be a much better president than many given him credit for. I think he will surprise us is a good way that he is a capable leader and will do an admirable job as our next president.
By chance, do you happen to be somewhere where progressives rule?

I suppose I should add that I totally understand if you live in a ‘battleground’ state how you would view any non-Trump vote as a pro-Hillary vote, as well you should. I used to live in a much more contested state, and there my priorities were, perforce, much different. In two presidential elections, my heart was thinking ‘Libertarian’ but I voted Republican because they needed my vote, were far better than the Democrat alternative, and because in that state, at least, my vote could matter!
The comments at the site are very commendatory.
The primaries are over and your man won, you might consider ceasing to attack Cruz supporters.
Not an attack at all, merely an observation. Perhaps if Cruz would quit be an arsehole some healing might just begin to take place. So why don’t you make that suggestion to your man, Cruz.
