If you have a newer model Subaru Legacy or Outback, stop right now.

The automaker is recalling more than 48,500 vehicles over a potential steering column defect so serious, they shouldn't even be driven to a mechanic.

...

"The steering column in your vehicle may not have been manufactured to specification," Subaru says in a customer service message online. "If this condition exists, turning the steering wheel may have no effect on the direction of the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash."

Lesbians, Bernie supporters and other assorted liberals hardest hit.

(don’t flame me, I’m reporting my own observations gleaned from years of living and driving here in lefty la-la land)

“...turning the steering wheel may have no effect on the direction of the wheels...”

That’s never good.

This is one reason I never (seldom) buy anything from China. I saw an interesting product today at Sprouts - it was a plastic onion saver. Clever. But made in China. Didn't buy it. Not sure what is in it.

Irony the official gay vehicle can’t turn left or right and can only go straight.

I bought one of the first year’s Subaru. Absolute junk car. Everything was wrong with it. My - then = ex thought it was cute. I learned never to buy cute. She gave it up when at 9 months pregnant in a snow storm at a major intersection the entire transmission fell out of the car. Dealer refused to make good on it. Wound up in court. PIECE OF JUNK!

I had it happen once.

I had an MG Midget and was racing a guy (and getting soundly beat!) when I lost control in a corner and hit the curb so hard the steering wheel came off in my hands. I wound up in someone’s front lawn.

I jammed the wheel back onto the shaft and limped the car home.

urning the steering wheel may have no effect on the direction of the wheels, increasing the risk of a crash.

This is exactly how the electorate feels about congress.

Well, if you are like me in lala leftard land, it’s not solely Subarus but add Prius pricks as well. Leftardism isn’t concentrated on the Subaru only. I could count a lot of bernie stickers but at least I know which ones to swipe on the road..

Yes, you’re right. Forgot about the Prius, the little egg-shaped blob that can’t seem to go above 40 m.p.h.

I zoomed past one on a farm road last week. I half expected to see feet protruding from the bottom ala Fred Flintstone.
