I saw Miss behavin’ in a large color photo on a B-17 with an olive drab finish. She was rendered in an original neo-Vargas like style complete with G-string and nylons. Hubba hubba was all I could say. Her name was spelled out as “Miss Bea Haven’’. Another name you can add to your list is “Sack Time’’.

Regardless, I love the colorful artwork like this, and i wonder if the pride it creates is not more valuable.

Unknown. Very few records of his Pacific theater time. I know that he did search and rescue. He was based out of Peleliu for awhile. Yes, the PBY was painted all flat black. As was common with most veterans of that time, he rarely spoke of his experiences. Wish I knew more.... a lot more.
I had the fortune back in ‘85’ to work with a couple of ex WWII artists at a sign shop. Quite colorful characters. One drank a beer every day with his lunch. Helped smooth out his brush hand.
