An eventful life spent time in a Magdalene Laundry in Dublin aged 14 when labelled a "problem child", she said

sang Mandinka on Late Night with David Letterman in 1988, a year after debut album released

Nothing Compares 2 U was number one in Ireland for 11 weeks

wrote her own Irish national anthem

has been outspoken about singer Miley Cyrus, music mogul Simon Cowell and actress Kim Kardashian

performed a tribute to David Bowie at a benefit concert in Chicago in March

WHOA! I did not know she was in a Magdalene laundry! I thought they were all closed down by the time she was born!

No wonder she's got problems!

Is she really missing if no one’s looking?

LOL of course I am. Even 20 years ago she did nothing for me. It’s a line from a SNL skit where Sinatra was asked about her and that was his reply. I think it was Joe Piscopo as Sinatra.

A woman with extensive mental issues. Once quite beautiful but has neglected and abused herself to the point where she is near unrecognizable.

One from the past:

permitting homosexuals to enter and stay the priesthood led to the rape of a lot of young boys

When priests rape little girls then, I guess you’re fine with that.

I think you've settled on a different aspect of the antecedent from the one intended by the poster. Homosexuality is a mental illness that was specifically tolerated by some unwise seminary directors and bishops in the 1970s and 1980s, leading to men being admitted to the priesthood who would have been excluded in previous centuries. This was at a time when homosexuality was being promoted in institutions throughout the Western world as harmless or even uniquely beneficial.

Only the mentally ill prey on children. Virtually alone among institutions in recent years, the Catholic church has cracked down on sexual deviants in admittance to seminaries and in parishes around the world. It's worth bearing in mind that per capita, the risk to children from homosexual males has continuously been considerably lower at Catholic parishes than at Protestant ones, or in public schools, throughout the period for which detailed statistics are available, which is since 1950.

Now, as always, the vast majority of priests are normal men who grew up playing sports and liking girls. Their "abnormality" is their willingness to consecrate their entire lives and persons to God.

From AP: “Wilmette police spokesman Eric Peterson said O’Connor had been located, “is safe and no longer considered a missing or endangered person,” though he wouldn’t say where she was found or release details about her condition.”

Actually, O’Connor was the daughter of well-heeled parents. She was a truant (shoplifting, I believe) and was sent to a Magdeline Asylum training center. I do not believe she was made to do laundry (I’m not even sure that was in operation by then) but instead was taught music where she was encouraged to develop her musical talents. I’m sure it was traumatic for her but nothing more than anyone who was sent to juvenile hall in the past and emerged whole or fragmented depending on their inner core of strength.

They found her - apparently alive.

Now maybe she’ll still have time to learn to overcome the hatred that makes he so miserable

That old-school bicycle looks very nice and fenders are a nice option on a proper touring rig.
Wonder why kind of bicycle Sinead was pedaling around when she very briefly went missing?
