Teary-eyed Cruz: This movement doesn’t go away in one election
The Hill ^ | 05/16/2016 | Caitlin Yilek

A teary-eyed Ted Cruz is hinting that he’s leaving the door open for another White House bid in a newly released video titled "No regrets."

The 5-minute video opens with a campaign staffer asking if the Cruz camp made it “through this without regrets.” “This is nearly a regret-free campaign,” he says. “Ted Cruz didn’t lose. Our campaign for president lost.”

You directly compared Cruz with the Palestinians.

No, I compared your Cruzbot thinking process to Pali supporter thinking processes. The subject of the comparison was YOU, not Cruz.

Obviously, since YOU cannot see that YOU are a Cruzbot, you are blind to your own abject prejudices.

Nice try, though.

Here's a clue: if the Palis would stop launching missiles into Israel, the "assaults" into Palestine would likely end. If Cruz would stop launching his senseless diatribes against the obvious Republican nominee and get behind him, then the assaults against the Texas Senator would likely end on Free Republic.

It starts with Cruz. The ball's in his court.

Yup, yup and yup again. Losers never, ever get to dictate the terms of surrender. That's a privilege solely (and rightly) reserved for the winners.

Cruz and Beck’s crazy antics and stubborness have destroyed this movement.

‘Given the way Cruz was marketed to the GOP masses, and the way his background was kept hidden, I think the GOPe was trying to copy the Dem’s 2008 Obama strategy by the book.

It probably would have worked, too, except for three things: 1) Trump, 2) the fact that Cruz is such an awful campaigner on the national stage; and 3) Cruz’s nasty personality bubbled up as the campaign grind wore on, and people (except for his die-hard supporters) saw past the Potemkin Village that was his campaign persona, and recoiled in horror.’

It was Cruz himself who tried to copy Obama’s playbook. Cruz bought The Audacity to Win—Plouffe’s paean to Obama’s ‘08, Hope and Change campaign—in bulk, and gave a copy to every one of his staffers. It was to be his blueprint for winning the electi

[Recall thatl Obama cheated massively at the caucuses. There is an online documentary about it. Hillary’s supporters had ample proof, but the MSM was Obama’s palace guard; they wouldn’t give a negative story about him the time of day.]

Agree with you re why it didn’t work. I’ll add this: the MSM didn’t follow Cruz around on their knees, wearing heavy-duty kneepads.

Cruz couldn’t stick with vague, ‘soaring rhetoric’ because Trump jumped in with specifics, such as the wall and deportation.

Republicans are not as easy to satisfy as Dems. The latter wanted a’messianic’ “light-worker,” and were only too happy to believe Obama’s hype. Republicans for the most part are skeptical of ‘anointed kings,’ and wanted reliable indicators that Cruz’ accomplishments in office would match his hype.

[For those who will respond, but Trump! consider this. Trumps’s reputation as a businessman is that he gets things done. Plus he’s not a career politician, which people have come to associate with lies and corruption.]

Perhaps. We all mix things up, from time to time. Everyone knew exactly what he meant to say at the time. There’s probably audio of the quote.

Anyway, ‘shame on us’ for allowing further erosion of the constitution with not one, but three non- NBC candidates.

The early caucus states are the easiest ones to cheat and get the foot in the door.

Hell freezes over when Maine is legitimately won by Ted Cruz.

Cruz was down to number 3 or 4 going in the door in Maine, and exited #1.

There is no way Cruz won Maine. Maine has a long history of cheating at the in the past primary elections.

I didn’t watch the clip.

Did he understand why he lost? Did he say what he’s going to do (except running for potus again)?

You really need to watch the clip. A verbal description will fall short describing this emotional wallow.

Thanks for that info. Something was fishy in several of the caucuses, Maine included. One thing this primary has taught me is to fundamentally distrust the caucus system.

“Weird how they always end up breaking down into big, weepy, public boo-hoo-hooings, ain’t it...? ;) “

Difference being that Swaggart was merely a whore monger, while Cruz is a genuine HEAD CASE : )

Liz, I need to ask you...are upset with me because you read (a few days ago) where I posted that freepers should stop wasting time talking about various topics such as "pecans, apples, potatoes and pies."

Is this what got you upset? Didn't you think thru - -that my reasoning behind posting that way -was just to 'goad' freepers and lurkers to be fr activist for just these six months before the general...post comments at youtube -to hinder the hillary campaign. (and I wasn't making fun of those who post in garden threads...in fun 'foods' threads) ( and in a folowup post, I stated that 'guys' should stop talking about hunting, bowling etc-- for awhile and perform some easy fr activism -at youtube.

My post wasn't just to 'goad' female freepers -but was also to 'goad' guy freepers too. That's what I do here. That's what I like doing. Being an fr activist. I do lose some friends here. But I'll risk that -to the betterment of our conservative cause. I just can't sit still and take what all these delusional liberals have done and are doing to our country. Some folks need to take (peaceful/freeping) action!

Liz, I thought for sure you'd be foresighted enough to see ...that my intentions were good. That I was just trying 'Goad' folks here. To Goad all freepers to do some easy fr activism.
Even back in '99, '00 and '01, feelings could be hurt if an fr activist (like me and others back in those years) left out someone or someone thought that they were being asked to 'do too much' ...like make homemade signs or asked to give rides to other freepers to a protest destination -and then at the conclusion of our fr protest were ---expected--- to drive folks to their homes. We did all that. And at times, some feelings did get hurt when we'd all try to 'goad' other freepers to put forth some effort. Anyway....

I was simply trying to - - 'goad' - - everyone do some fr activism...Against the Hillary campaign. :)

<><><><><>

In fact, let me post the exact paragraph that I think got you upset Liz. (btw, it was right after this particular fr activism post of mine -in that thread- that I noticed... that exact day, May 10th .....and every day since I posted this post (below) -that you were no longer pinging me to your excellent posts/this is when I noticed that something might be...amiss.

This just has to be the reason you are all of a sudden asking me to not ping you. :( (if not, tell me what I did? What can it be?? I'm totally clueless.

It would be much easier for me to just forget about all this....just relax here at home all day and simply just play chess, spades or watch cable all day. A nice leisure retirement till I'm below the grass, instead of typing here...hassle with concentrating each day -on what to post here- that might be beneficial to our conservative cause.

<><><>

Here is that one particular paragragh in my long activist post, May 10th, that might have you Liz...and maybe some other folks- who took this...the wrong way:

"Now, this might sound harsh, but now it the time for all of us...to work/post - against the democrats' nominee and spend less time talking about other topics for the next six months (such as how to bake pies, eating apples, pecans and how flowers grow or other trivial matters ...and get to work and spend time working...for just the next six months)"

...this was post #19 / paragraph 12

in this thread:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/3429816/posts

[and further down the page to post # 39 / paragraph 11 -- I included 'goading' guy freepers

Nope. What you wrote is self-evident. You specifically wrote “If Cruz would stop ...”

I invite you to stop being divisive. And instead to contribute to the uniting of our party.

[What a conceited asshole. Instead of manning up to fight for America in 2016, he acts the quisling and implies that defeat is nigh—but don’t worry, he’ll be your hero in 2020. This guy just isn’t happy with anything that doesn’t involve him in center-stage.]

You nailed it. Regarding the center stage thing, I knew a guy like that. We tried to help him (and did) when few others would. He wound up knifing a couple of us in the back, several times. And this was at a church, too.

“Ted Cruz didn’t lose. Our campaign for president lost.”

A rather self-important phrase. It is like he considers himself the movement. An odd thing to say. What would have made more sense would have been “Our movement didn’t lose, Ted Cruz lost a presidential election”.

I think he meant what he said and considers holds an oddly high opinion of himself.

Knowing Cruz’s malignant narcissism, it wouldn’t surprise me if the “our” in the statement “Our campaign for president lost” could have been “America’s” - i.e., “America’s campaign for president lost”.
