Teary-eyed Cruz: This movement doesn’t go away in one election
The Hill ^ | 05/16/2016 | Caitlin Yilek

A teary-eyed Ted Cruz is hinting that he’s leaving the door open for another White House bid in a newly released video titled "No regrets."

The 5-minute video opens with a campaign staffer asking if the Cruz camp made it “through this without regrets.” “This is nearly a regret-free campaign,” he says. “Ted Cruz didn’t lose. Our campaign for president lost.”

Given the way Cruz was marketed to the GOP masses, and the way his background was kept hidden, I think the GOPe was trying to copy the Dem’s 2008 Obama strategy by the book.

It probably would have worked, too, except for three things: 1) Trump, 2) the fact that Cruz is such an awful campaigner on the national stage; and 3) Cruz’s nasty personality bubbled up as the campaign grind wore on, and people (except for his die-hard supporters) saw past the Potemkin Village that was his campaign persona, and recoiled in horror.

He was overtaken by a celebrity, who understood how to control the media and get the attention he needed from them and constituents.

That is how dems attempt the steal.

D. Trump would not have been so unimaginably (by many)successful if he had no substantive points to publicly state as his positions.

Positions that apparently a great many people also had, and agreed with, which were not even given a sentence by others, through two presidential elections.

Cruz started falling apart when he inexplicably plucked Glenn Beck from the funny farm and made that fruitcake part of his campaign. To this day, I still don’t understand why Cruz did that.

Yeah......they sure were an odd couple. Yet, thinking it over, it became clearer to me that friendless cruz was desperate to have somebody.....anybody......willing to flack his campaign.

You’re equating Cruz, a fine conservative senator with a proven conservative track record, with the Palestinians?

Madness.

Cruz mistakes the Trump movement for his own.

EVERY person I know here where I live never considered Cruz, from the start. People opinions re: Cruz are based on his words and deeds, which were and are despicable.

Nevertheless, DJT is a unifier, and I suspect that if Cruz pledges his support and adheres to a strict, pre-approved script, he will be permitted to speak.

We shall see.

Not nearly as mad as Cruz endorser National Review calling Sen. Sessions a “prostitute” for endorsing Trump. Yet Ted Cruz never said a word about it and happily accepted the endorsement from NR. How principled and conservative of Ted Cruz.

Here’s a Bushism, in reply.

“There’s an old saying in Tennessee - I know it’s in Texas, probably in Tennessee - that says, fool me once, shame on - shame on you. Fool me - you can’t get fooled again.”

Looks like we are apt to get fooled again and again cuz it’s the a central item of the globalist agenda.

It all began with Arnold! What if we elected him, ended up with all these unhappy Kennedys running round the WH and his extra-son and the Mex-baby-momma! (Congressman Dana Rohrabacher -sponsored 3 bills for Arnold to eliminate the NBC clause).

They keep trying: Arnold, Granholm, Obama, Cruz, Rubio, Jindahl, Haley....

FUTC!

You don’t want to be a SCOTUS justice? You don’t care about conservatism. You’re in it for yourself.

KMA.

You’re equating Cruz, a fine conservative senator with a proven conservative track record.

Who would even stand behind this statement after all those “conservative votes” he made for Obama. Just another political hack that thrives on the Washington corruption.

During Cruz’s campaign I never figured out what he stood for. All he did was bash Trump & Trump supporters. Make false accusations, KKK, David Duke, mob ties, etc. Sided with feminazis on a trumped up charge against an innocent man. Sided with violent thugs against innocent people.

I hope whatever his so-called movement is, dies quickly.

We’ll see. The type of people at the convention are the same type who gave him his self-proclaimed “landslide victory” in Colorado. Most people I have talked to about it say they likely won’t be voting for him again.

That is PRECISELY what you did in your comment:

You directly compared Cruz with the Palestinians.

If you can’t see what you’ve done, then you’re a lost soul; I can’t help you.

Now that Trump has beaten him like a red headed stepchild, remember that Cruz and his most extreme cult followers ALL persist in painting the Cuban-Canadian import as “The Next Reagan” and Cruz was never bashful about drawing comparisons between our 40th President and himself.

Cruz is attempting to make history repeat itself, and this year (2016) is in his mind, just like 1976 when the Gipper fell short of delegates at the GOP convention that year, and President Gerald Ford prevailed.

As we all know, the ‘RAT Jimmy Carter won the election, which began 4 of the most incompetent and destructive years in America’s history pre-Obama, and that led to the conservative tidal wave which was Ronald Reagan in 1980.

This is all about Cruz attempting to live out his life as a crypto-fantasy of a reincarnated Reagan. But unlike Cruz, Reagan ran a clean campaign, didn’t run his rallies like religious tent revivals, and did not preach to the crowds about the necessity to “raise up and energize the Body of Christ” like Elmer Gantry.

Cruz’ strategy is to do everything possible to undermine Donald Trump, he is a closet #NEVERTRUMPER as are many of his supporters, and it is very likely that he believes that 4 years of Hillary Rotten Criminal would pave the way for his triumphant victory in 2020, exactly 40 years after the Reagan landslide, and some students of Biblical history will tell you that 40 years is considered a generation which to Cruz would indicate the Almighty’s seal of approval.

This is what happens when a candidate begins to believe their own hype, and mixes politics with religion as Cruz has done. It is a toxic and unhealthy mix.

We all knew Ronald Reagan. Ronald Reagan was a friend of ours, and Ted Cruz is NO Ronald Reagan.

Actually, it's my understanding that when GWB uttered those words, that he was anticipating that if he were to say "fool me, twice, shame on me" that the footage would be lifted, clipped and edited in thousands of anti-GWB political ads, whether that is true or not we'll never know, but I can believe it.

Weird how they always end up breaking down into big, weepy, public boo-hoo-hooings, ain't it...? ;)
