He volunteered, he wasn’t drafted. I’d have more understanding if this had come from one of the old guys who was drafted during Vietnam.
This should end any chance Hunter might have of getting support from Christian conservatives.
The current structure of draft registration forces the feds to take a stand on who is a male. That sounds stupid, but we are being led by the stupid, who take the position on bathroom access that anybody can decide at any time whether or not they are male or female.
If a human being with XY chromosomes fails to register for the draft, they’re breaking the law that requires them to do so. If that person declares that he identifies as a female, then the feds have to decide whether or not to accept that declaration.
If they do, in principle nobody has to register; anybody can claim they identify as female. If they don’t, they’ve set a precedent, like the U. S. Postal Service accepting Kris Kringle as Santa Claus: how can you harass North Carolina for limiting biological males to male restrooms when you, as the federal government, specify that biological males have to comply with a law that is limited to males?
That dilemma disappears when both males and females are required by statute to register (whether or not they are ultimately subjected to the draft).
I never thought of that angle. All the more reason to oppose it and force the government back to the reality that one’s sex is determined by biology.

Well you don’t get to choose because the majority of this country has not lost their mind. Women are not going to be registering for the draft. Its ridiculous.
But not this time.
The very idea of females being required to register comes from the feminists, and they want all females to have their beliefs set aside, and forced into a new "cultural construct."
With the precedent already set (in the minds of military planners) by young women who are presently willing to leave their children behind and go out and spend months in Humvees with men to whom they are not married, it points to difficulty getting deferments in the future. We have already crossed the threshold of "Because some women WANT TO, all women MUST" (again in the Pentagon think tanks)
Millions of American women, not just a few, still have firm convictions on women daily having the hands-on training responsibility of their own children. There should be NO threat at all to this.
Well your opinion doesn’t count since women are not going to be registering for the draft anytime soon. Common sense has once again prevailed against insanity. Suck it up.
The issue is dead. Take your women hate down to the biker bar.
