Former Texas Gov. Rick Perry predicted during a private phone call Wednesday that presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump could carry more than 35 states in the November election.

“The more I spend time with him, the more I talk with him, the more I see how he has analyzed this country properly at this point in time, I feel very comfortable that we’re going to win,” Perry told donors during a conference call hosted by the pro-Trump Great America PAC.

“I think we have the potential to win overwhelmingly,” he added. “I’m talking a 35, 36, 37-state victory. Just a powerful win in November.

One gives thought as to the young voters who cast their vote (might have been their first) for this heathen. How they might feel now and how feelings might have changed these past eight long years. To be a fly on the wall should our nephew be discussing this with his parents. He was so caught up in the Hope and Change (as were his parents) This is a solid typical Democrat family. Have any changed and have any come to realize the truth? This PITA emperor BO’B hates this country and US as well. Not all Presidents react like this....at least not normally.

Yes, indeed. I wonder what must be going through his head now with both current Governor Abbott and former Governor Perry on board The Trump Train!!!

And Hillary looks jacked-up as if she took a handful of Viagra.

It’s a reasonable prediction. This has all the hallmarks of another Reagan-Mondale matchup.

I certainly hope he replaces all department heads, they can do much more harm than good, as hold overs from the previous administration.

Yeah, Trump hasn't even started his general election campaign yet.

I think many people are going to be surprised at the difference between the mainstream media portrayal and the reality of Trump's sincerity and commitment.

(11) Eleven key states and one can win the electoral votes. That's right, you can still win the presidency with (11) Eleven states against (39) Thirty-nine states.

Not very cutting edge on Perry’s part. I and others predicted this months ago. Of course these folks can’t tell what the feel or the truth until the politically correct time to do so.

Any Texans know if Perry has anything to do with the awesome Perry’s restaurant downtown in Austin?

AFAIK Perry doesn't have anything to do with them. They are a national chain. Have eaten there a few times. Damn good steaks and atmosphere. Get ready to pony up though, a little pricey!

I strongly think Trump will win Ohio, Florida, Virginia, Pennsylvania, Nevada, Colorado and Michigan.

Good chance to even get Connecticut, New Hampshire, Maine and EVEN Massachusetts.

Possible: California! New York! Oregon, Wisconsin, and Iowa.

I was just pointing out another in a very long line of folks not always terribly popular on FR until they spoke well of Donald Trump.

I am very comfortable in looking at November - not at all nervous. Trump will win. America is going to be done with this last 8 years of hell.

I pray it is only the first step in

1) reinstating the Constitution as the Supreme Law of the Land,

2) dismantling 80% or more of the mostly unconstitutional $4 trillion central government,

3) re-asserting constitutional state sovereignty, and

4) a rebirth of freedom - individually, politically, economically, and personally.

I have the feeling that many people will vote Trump once in the booth, but are keeping quiet in public. Assuming Hillary is the Dem nominee, I believe that he has a chance to win 30-40 states, including several traditional blue states in the Northeast and West coast.

Don't you worry, as soon as you start speaking well of Donald Trump, we will start liking you too. We might even teach you the secret handshake.
