Ouch!
Unless it’s some planes streaking across the sky like a meteor shower.
Talked to someone tonight that is on AFGSC staff at Barksdale about pulling one out of the boneyard. As he put it
That's going to be extremely difficult. The jets out there aren't really kept in that great of shape. Plus, they don't have several of the upgrades we've done since they were sent out there. We were able to re-generate one a year ago because we were able to pull those upgrade parts off of the jet it was replacing. We won't have that "luxury" this time.
I take it this event didn’t involve ejections because if I remember correctly, one or two of the B-52 seats eject downwards not upwards. Sorry if I’m wrong, going deep into the wayback machine here. LOL
Any nukes on board?
I had one of my own ships sent to the boneyard. A KC-135 Satcom flying testbed with a brand new “glass” cockpit, courtesy of Ted Kennedy.
This happened about 5 miles from where I live. I could here the emergency vehicles.
The B52’s & F18’s buzz the house all the time
Maybe you should stop calling for nuclear war. Also, a real aerospace designer wouldn't claim to have any "aircraft designs under his belt" unless he actually designed an actual aircraft that was produced. Finally, you should watch your manners. This isn't DU - try to remember that.
As I hear it, the active fleets are in deep doodoo trying to keep their stuff flying with the current administration’s “enlightened attitude” toward military spending/priorities.
By extension, I’d hazard a guess that The Boneyard is/has been operating on the last frayed thread of the most rotten shoelace you ever saw and when somebody says “The jets out there aren’t really kept in that great of shape” it is..no..exaggeration..at..all.
Is the KC-135 one of "your ships" that you designed as an aerospace engineer? Pretty good, designing the KC-135 yourself. Especially since you designed 23 other aircraft as well. Right?
We would kind of need to build more and better planes to do that. Right now China has the air force to attrit even the F-22s away, the F-35 is a joke that’s not online yet, and they match or exceed our current fighters in many ways (especially as we’ve been putting off upgrades and maintenance that they desperately need). The Russians have better conventional fighters than we do as well. Unless our guys have AWACS in support, it’s not going to be an American curb stomp party against their forces - and even if we do have AWACS, the Russians and Chinese read our doctrinal books and have built lots of BVR AWACS killer missiles.
Watch my manners, pretty rich of you bub. Maybe you should get a clue too. We already had one surveillance aircraft brought down (bumped) by a Chinese pilot. The crew didn’t ditch the equipment as was their responsibility. Who knows what secrets the Chinese gained from that. This is not acceptable, The Chinese should have realized the repercussions from a future event. I guess not, eh.
What aircraft designer has ever designed a total aircraft other than the Spirit of ST. Louis. No one. You show your ignorance.
The bomber was deployed to Guam from Minot, North Dakota,.....That’s a long ways for the crew to have to hitch hike home.
Keep being a tool. Yes, it was one of my ships, I had a lot of designs on it, several structural by the way. Notice You didn’t ask about Ted Kennedy though did you. As I said before, There has never been a sole designer on any aircraft other than the Spirit of St Louis. Interesting story on him by the way, not that you give a care. You’re to busy being a Teddy.
Nuclear war? You're an idiot. No other word fits what you wrote. Get a clue yourself.

Actually, Donald Hall and Charles Lindbergh designed the Spirit of St. Louis. That's two people, I believe.
Two. People.
I'd think an aerospace designer would know that.
Also, YOU described YOURSELF as: "an aerospace designer with 2 dozen aircraft designs under my belt." Which, as I pointed out, says directly that you designed two dozen aircraft yourself ("under my belt"). But then, since you don't even include Charles Lindbergh as one of the designers of the Spirit of St. Louis - and then double down and BRAG about not including him, I doubt you've "designed" any "aircraft" that wasn't made out of paper.
Bub.
Now run along and go nuke some Chinese, there's a good boy.
I was a hypersonics designer. I sit and watch while the communist surpass us even in this advanced field. What are we to do, you tell me. Mean while that KC-135 I supported that was sent to the boneyard was capable of a lot more than one would suspect. I suppose the F-35 isn’t such a lame ass as I’m hearing.
The goddamn gun doesn’t work on the F-35 and won’t for at least two years. Our current aircraft are sitting around grounded for lack of parts.
I dunno, you tell me, what level of air force has these problems? Hint: Not the top.
You are so clueless, it’s beyond you dude. You think the Chinese are benevolent to our country, get a clue. As far as your comments about Donald Hall, he was the man. Charles Lindbergh a designer, lol. You aren’t one obviously and never have been one. Why are you commenting exactly. That was being nice by the way.
Jet assisted takeoff;thats why the BUFFS are “running rich”.
