Hillary's Support Among Democrats Fades As Party Crisis Looms (Rat high drama alert)
Investor's Business Daily ^ | May 18, 2016

Party Politics: Every day there are stories about how deeply troubled the Republican Party is with Donald Trump as its presumptive candidate. But, if anything, the Democratic Party is in far worse shape.

Think about it. Democrats still can't decide if Hillary Clinton is electable - in fact, her support has diminished as the primary season has dragged on. There are fears of a party revolt by Bernie Sanders supporters at the July convention, and there’s a huge rift forming between two of its major factions. Plus, polls show that the supposedly can't-possibly-win Donald Trump is now close to Clinton.

Meanwhile, the party is increasingly worried that Sanders supporters, feeling they had the nomination snatched from them by a rigged system, could stage damaging protests at the party’s convention, after his supporters turned a Nevada state Democratic convention into a chaotic mess.

[Snip]

If that weren’t enough, a major fight has developed between two of the Democratic Party’s most important constituencies - rich environmentalists and labor unions.

Hillary’s terrible, and Trump kills her. They gave her the nom, but Bernie’s chewing her ass up, and it’s fun to watch.

I think it will be easier to beat Hillary. She is so corrupt, so sick and unlikeable ... it would be a shoo in for Trump.

The Dems are imploding. The Fox poll is the harbinger of the polls to come.

Will the clinton VP choice replace her before or after the election?

Clinton’s easier to beat.

Bernie would certainly have more momentum and youth support. But remember he’d also alienate many existing Clinton supporters as well. Also many of Bernie’s existing negatives haven’t been hauled out into the limelight yet.

Either way it’s irrelevant because there’s no way Clinton’s surrendering this opportunity. And I half-suspect that Dem party officials have already strategically concluded that they’re fine with losing 2016.

No kidding. Not sure why people are rooting for Bernie. Reminds me of Obama in 2008.

Exactly.

I want to see PIAPS gain the nomination but I want it to be messy, brutal, and with delegate blood on the floor. Riots in the streets of Philadelphia would also be nice.

Why would Obama hand the keys to the Democrar Party back to the Clintons? Hillary looks to be losing the General Election. Obama canker the indictment go forward and hand pick his puppet. Keeping control of the Dem Party levers Crazy Joe or Crazy Bernie individually or Asa couple would bring the Party together. Meanwhile Hillary may end up in Orange Overalls.

There’s no compelling reason Obama wouldn’t give it back to the Clintons. Hillary’s ideologically closer to Obama than Bernie is.

Sure, Bernie likes socialism but probably isn’t so much into torturing society with far-Left fringe fascism like Obama (and Hillary) are.

I concur with you. My wife has her PhD in Ontology and she keeps saying that by the way a lot of left/liberal newscasters laugh (especially Rachel "Tokyo Rose" Maddow) at some of they're own self made statements, they're just attempting to reassure themselves that they're confident that the Dem party will prevail in the election. That's a subliminal message that they're scared of the truth. But nothing new there.

Why would Obama hand the keys to the Democrar Party back to the Clintons?

This is a deep question to which neither I nor you know the answer. Maybe even they don't.

It's possible the contest between barkie and clintoon is a mexican standoff of the highest order.

We know they loathe each other. (After all, what's not to loathe?) Given that, it comes down to
1) what do they have on each other
2) how much do they fear that
3) what do each of them have to lose

for further discussion...

Another problem is that the Democratic Party’s leader pool has dried up. I believe they’d have gladly thrown Hillary under the bus this cycle if they could’ve ran a younger, fresher face with ideals similar to Obama… but there simply isn’t anybody else as far as I know. The next 4-8 years will give the Dems time to find that, as well as retool a coherent message to run on.

The GOP would’ve also faced this problem in the coming years. Rubio (as mediocre as he is) was supposed to be ‘the future’, but that’s dicey now as he’s apparently quit politics and his presidential bid failed given the emergence of Trump. The upside is that Trump’s rise will breathe new ideological vitality into the GOP which’ll draw new & interesting talent to the party.
