Atheists bash hotel Bibles: They’d prefer a Darwinian replacement!

by Paul Price

A recent article from The Christian Institute reported that the US-based ‘Freedom From Religion Foundation’ is now asking for ‘Bible-free’ bedrooms to be offered in hotels.1 For all of us who have been following the cultural trends in the West, this development should hardly come as a surprise—the anti-God agenda has been making further and further encroachments into traditionally Christian strongholds, as more and more of the culture has become saturated with secularism.

The atheist group cited the actions of the Travelodge hotel chain, who removed all Bibles from their rooms in 2014, despite the fact that not a single guest had registered a complaint! Of course, hotels are free to include or refuse to allow Bibles in their own rooms, but the widespread practice of placing Bibles in hotel room drawers has been carried on for over a century; clearly, this is just one more indicator that the essentially Christian makeup of Western culture has been seriously eroding.

The Bible is a trustworthy eyewitness record of history, and good science confirms this time and time again. Even more telling, however, is what the atheist group wants to replace the Bible with: Darwin’s On the Origin of Species!

If the athiests want to pay for the books in question, and can find a hotel that is voluntarily willing to place them, I say more power to them. I seriously doubt, however that these kooks are wanting to put their money where their mouth is.

Should I join a group where I talk about how I don’t collect stamps?

A non-philatelist? Burn the heretic!

What are these guys so afraid of?

God's Light.

They prefer to remain in the dark.

Why can the atheists just ignore the Bibles in hotel rooms?

Because their vampire superstitions make them think that a book in a drawer, neither of which they need ever open, can somehow harm them.

The Gideons International place those bibles in hotel rooms. It is their mission to put God’s Holy Bible into the hands of others free of charge.

If the atheists want to spread their “religion”, they can do likewise. No one is stopping them. It should be easy. A blank notebook should do the trick.

Freedom of speech and freedom of religion. A private enterprise like a hotel has every right to express it. If someone is offended by the presence of a Bible, they can ignore it.

You know why there will never be “Origin of the Species” in hotel room drawers?

Because atheists are not charitable enough to buy thousands of copies and distribute them for free to the hotels, that’s why.

The hotels don’t pay for the Bibles that are in the room, they are donated. Last time I was in a motel it all so had a Book of Mormon that had been donated. When I was in Korea I recall a Teachings of Buda. If the Atheists want a Origin of the Species in the room, let them donate it.

Because besides being atheists they are totalitarians and a good part of their worldview is through totalitarian lenses.

< ****I sense a Madalyn Murray O’Hair ending...*** She considered herself to be the top of the line. I wonder, when her atheist “friends” came for her and her family with their strangling cords, chainsaws and sledge hammers, did she say... “OH MY GOD!” or “OH MY ME!”

Actually if memory serves correct it was one of her own employees who despised and hated her and her family and ended up putting them into 55 gallon drums and sealing them. It's said she was one of the most evil, miserable, arrogant, and despicable creatures to have ever walked the earth and screamed and cursed at everyone. Sounds like she was demonically possessed for years. Oh what irony that would be... : )

I don't get why Travelodge took the Bibles out of nightstands.

If someone doesn't believe in the Bible, WHO in their right mind would give a crap?

I never call anyone when I stay at a motel, but I don't demand that they take all phonebooks out of the nightstand.

Maybe someone wants to order a pizza. Who knows.

But I'm not bothered in the least by it's mere existence.

The Gideon’s are a wonderful organization.

The Gideons International is a world-wide association of Christian business and professional men. T join the Gideons one must be a professed follower of Christ, the active member of a local evangelical church, confirmed by his pastor, and recommended by another Gideon. Ordained ministers are not admitted to the organization, nor does the local camp have any affiliation with any local church or denomination.

The members themselves pay all the costs of the organization out of their own pockets, including any involvement in travel for distributions in other lands. Gideons International owes no allegiance to any denomination, corporation, or government agency.

The contributions from the supporting churches and their members go entirely toward printing and distributing Bibles and testaments to schools that permit it, to hospitals, to hotels and motels serving the public, and for sidewalk distributions at colleges and universities.

Not one contributed cent goes into any private person's account anywhere.
