It’s been over a year since I dumped cable, and the sweetest thing has been a year of Fox and Friends-Free mornings.

Yup. Once Fox got bit by the zombies, we had no reason to pay for cable.

Now we strictly stream.

Once you get into the habit of having your TV off, you come to realize that 95% of the time you are better off with it off rather than on.

People who have the TV on in the background all day....I think that is a very destructive practice. “Destructive” is too strong a word but I use it for want of a better word and it is not wrong. When you can step back and consider how insidious the messaging and spin is from all the political ads we see....for people who have that thing on in the background all day long, they are exposing themselves to hundreds of thousands of subliminal and overt messages. And I am not being tinfoilish about saying that.

Fox Trump and Friends was always impossible for me to watch. I don't think I ever saw more than bits and pieces as I did other stuff in the morning.

Little by little the whole daily lineup turned me away.

Now the only time Fox is on in our home is for Varney in the Am and Dobbs in the PM - both on Fox Business Network.

Megyn Kelly is all about Megyn Kelly. Her interviews, her reporting, and any comments she may make are only done to keep her face on camera and further her career or give leverage to her next contract negotiation
