Well, I think you can scratch Lake Mead off the Bassmaster Tournament Trail for the near future.

It wasn’t there until they built Hoover dam so I wouldn’t say that it’s at its lowest level in “history”.

Can’t the EPA drain more mines?

It is a man made lake. The lowest level would be dry with a river running through it.

It is a desert. Large amounts of people where never meant to live there.

Well, since the indians haven’t caught any migratory salmon above the dam since it was built, the obvious ‘green’ solution would be to remove the dam so that the river could be restored to its historic levels. I’m pretty sure that fish ladders wouldn’t help.

Yeah, drain some more mines into the river, maybe LA would like the yellow water coming out of their spigots.

There is plenty of water in the Pacific Ocean. Just take the salt out before you use it. ;-)

On a lighter note...

It’s a desert…

Seems we don’t need so many more people here. Maybe we should just send all the illegals back before it becomes a worse problem.

Grow more grass in southern California deserts and the lake will be empty soon. Time to start cutting back water usage!!!

The Japanese are covering one of their reservoirs with floating photo-voltaic cells that not only make electricity, but also retard evaporation. I saw where the Californians filled one with small, black floating balls to retard evaporation. I never heard how that turned out.

(I hope I can still use the word “retard”.)

The Upper Colorado River basin Snow pack is 102% of Normal as of Today. If the Snows not melting, its hard to fill reservoirs downstream.

How can “climate Change” be blamed for running Hydroelectric generators to drain a man-made, reservoir that has another, larger dam 200 miles upstream That has been rising since April?

The water level of lake Mead is 90% controlled by man, and 10% controlled by nature.

They better leave the Bellagio Fountains alone! They are sensational!

That’s right, my priorities are awfully questionable. :)

I wonder if any bodies from the Vegas area have become exposed with the receding shoreline. Maybe they just buried the bodies in the surrounding desert.

The level of Lake Mead is controlled by the Hoover Dam. Shut off or reduce the outflow until the lake fills up again. What’s the problem? Why let the water go to waste by flowing into the Gulf of California?

That reminds me: I left the water running all night and all day today. Oh well.
