Missouri’s Republican-led Legislature this year passed tax breaks for goods and services ranging from wheelchairs to yoga classes, setting up a potential showdown with Democratic Gov. Jay Nixon over what he said could lead to a hole in the state budget.
Nixon said the tax cuts could cost as much as $80 million, but backers say Nixon’s cost estimate is overblown. Legislative researchers project that the tax breaks cited by the governor will cost closer to $22 million in the fiscal year that begins July 1.
Nixon said he will closely review the costs and take “actions necessary to keep the budget in balance.” Nixon could veto the tax breaks or block other state spending to compensate.
Lawmakers passed the breaks after approving a $27.3 billion spending plan.

Yes. And I am waiting for someone, on the National stage, to ram home the point that ‘ALL GOVERNMENT MONEY CAME FROM HARD WORKING TAXPAYERS’. Period. The Government produces NOTHING. Until the average American worker starts thinking about Government money in that way, the Left will continue to control the narrative.
Jay is worried he won’t have the slush fund to keep his Ferguson rioters, er voters, happy and making more threats. Without those funds they might have to find actual employment.
But Obola says “You didn’t make that money, earn that money, or build that business.”
The government did everything by making the roads past the business you didn’t build.
One day when I was railing against Big Government, a Lib friend said ‘but you appreciate those roads, don’t you?’. I asked him if he thought I paid less to use those roads than anybody else paid. He had no response. Libs are such sheeple.....they believe and parrot EVERYTHING their ‘leaders’ say. Ditto Big Media...but I am being redundant.
