Koskinen will skip IRS impeachment hearing
Politio ^ | 5/23/16 | Rachael Bade and Katy O’Donnell

Posted on 05/23/2016 10:45:18 AM PDT by Nachum

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen will not appear at a “misconduct” hearing Tuesday where Republicans will lay out a case to impeach him for allegedly failing to comply with a congressional subpoena, the IRS told POLITICO.

Lawmakers on the House Judiciary Committee summoned the tax chief to answer accusations from the House Oversight panel that he failed to preserve documents Congress requested for its probe of the IRS tea party scandal. They also say he never told the full truth about erased back-up tapes containing copies of emails belonging to former IRS official Lois Lerner.

Some Republicans even suspect the IRS intentionally destroyed documents as part of a cover up. And Oversight Chairman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), who took over investigation of the IRS treatment of conservative nonprofits upon taking the gavel last year, will make the impeachment case against Koskinen on Tuesday morning.

He won’t be there, the IRS says, because he was not given enough notice of the hearing, which was scheduled a little over a week ago. Koskinen just returned from a trip to China where he met with tax leaders around the world, and he’s slated to testify before another House panel later this week.

“When the committee announced this hearing, he was returning from China after meeting with tax administrators of 43 nations,” the statement reads. “The committee's quick timetable left him without the time to fully prepare for Tuesday's hearing. In addition, he also has been preparing for a previous commitment to appear before a House Ways and Means Committee hearing on Wednesday.”

Hopefully President Trump will keep him in his cabinet so he can be impeached while in office. Given the IRS will be downsized and he won’t be flying around on junkets, he will have more time to attend committee hearings.

Nothing will come of this. All the corrupt criminals of the King Obama empire are under the umbrella of protection.

This guy’s arrogance is almost as bad as bammy’s or hillary’s. He needs to be in prison.

In other words, he needs more time to destroy records and report bad hard drives.

Take his pension.
Congress has the power to do that, but probably not the courage(Republicans)or the will.

Find him in Contempt of Congress, then send the Sgt at Arms to arrest him. The House can hold him in jail until the next Congress.

Everyone knows Congress is all bark and no bite. The American people know it, and left-wing government thugs do too.

Lois Lerner spat in their face and they did nothing. This Koskinen is doing the same thing by refusing to appear.

They are afraid to use their powers, and everyone knows it. This is how tyranny grows, thanks in great part to the band of perpetual losers known as Republicans.

One of the first laws need to be passed in 2017 is The following:

“Any federal employee who refuses the request of Congress to appear to testify, participate, or attend any congressional hearing voluntarily terminates their employment with the federal government and is forbidden to lobby the federal government for five years. This termination takes effect immediately and with no legal recourse.”

Democrats are so corrupt, with the Media on their side, these scandals go no where. There’s so many POS democrat human trash who don’t care about justice, they simply hate republicans. So anything coming from the R side of the isle is just lies and garbage and the left just label it as a witch hunt and the sheeple are happy.

Huh? What the hell are "tax leaders" and why would he need to meet with them when his ONLY concern is the USA tax system?
