Brexit campaign leadership dominated by climate skeptics

Leading figures in the Vote Leave referendum campaign to take Britain out of the EU have links to a controversial climate-skeptic think tank and question the science behind global warming.

The group’s three leaders, Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and figurehead Lord Nigel Lawson, have cast doubt over man-made climate change, which is backed by most of the world’s credible experts.

Lawson founded the Global Warming Policy Foundation in 2009 and is a noted climate skeptic. Both the foundation, which broke UK Charity Commission rules for anti-climate bias, and Vote Leave share rich donors.

Gove — who tried to stop climate change being taught in schools — and in particular Johnson, are seen as Conservative leadership frontrunners should a Brexit vote topple UK Prime Minister David Cameron, who backs Remain.

There are so many influential politicians and donors that are both euro- and climate-skeptic that it has raised fears over the future of UK climate policy if the UK votes for Brexit on 23 June. …

For all its problems at least the UK has ‘noted climate skeptics.’ Can anyone name a U.S. politician who has that reputation with the media?

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe what you meant to say was, “Unfortunately the sane won’t have enough power to avert the insane course their entire planet is on.”

Even worse, they aren't Muslims!

It's time to finally just accept reality that Britain is lost and has been for decades.

The Caliphate of the UK is a de-facto reality, like it or not.

Along with the rest of what was once Western Civilization.

It just is, like it or not.

Eh, it’s really only the West that seems hellbent on cultural suicide.

You may be right, but when I look around I see pretty much every nation on Earth teetering on the brink.

Maybe that’s just me.

They’re dysfunctionally self-destructive in their own ways, no doubt. But their retrograde cultures seem to be surviving, if not thriving regardless. Only the West seems to be outright suicidal.

What does the possibility of that have to do with this?

So... you don’t consider being dysfunctionally self-destructive the same as suicidal?

I think we’re talking potayto/potahto here.

Nah. For instance, a person can take drugs or even engage in risky violent criminal behavior on a regular basis. It’s self-destructive, but many such people still end up living a long time.

Whereas being suicidal and actually taking steps to kill yourself is a whole different state of mind.

What does the possibility of that have to do with this? The former UK does have a nuclear submarine capability, as does France.
Those assets will soon pass into the hands of the European subsidiary of ISIS.
