San Francisco officials plan to take another run at clarifying sanctuary protections for people who are in the country illegally, a policy that landed the city in national hot water last year when a Mexican man shot and killed a woman walking along a waterfront pier.

The Board of Supervisors will consider a proposal Tuesday that spells out when law enforcement can turn over criminal suspects to federal immigration authorities.

Housing crisis, crowded highways, crime, death of the middle class, rotten schools, crumbling infrastructure, could any of this be related to open borders? Nah must be caused by global warming.

When does a city get to ignore federal laws?

Can other cities ignore other federal laws with repercussions?

On Day One, if I were President Trump, I would issue an order to arrest every mayor and city council of sanctuary cities.

Agreed entirely. These “elected” officials swore to uphold the law and protect the citizens of their jurisdiction and purposely and knowingly failed at both.

The real question is:

Can a State, or Political Entity of the State, Force it’s Citizens under threat of Criminal Prosecution or Civil Prosecution to Engage in a “Conspiracy to Violate Federal Laws”??

To Put it another way, Do Citizens have the RIGHT to NOT be a Participant in a FEDERAL CRIME??

18 U.S. Code § 242 - Deprivation of rights under color of law

Current through Pub. L. 114-38. (See Public Laws for the current Congress.)

US Code

Each and every “sanctuary” city should be cut off from any and all federal funding. All of it!

As I recall, San Francisco, when Gavin Newsome, was mayor a few years back had the city pay for a billboard welcoming and encouraging illegals to come to the city. I thought what a great opportunity for Arizona and Texas to put on extra express busses to San Francisco to alleviate the overcrowding of illegals in their midst.

I like Booby Jindal’s approach to the issue

In late July, Jindal released a detailed plan—his “Partners In Crime Plan”—to hold officials in sanctuary cities accountable for what they have done.

The plan calls first for Congress to “criminalize” sanctuary cities existing by “making city officials that enact those policies as an accessory to the crimes committed by the illegal aliens those policies enabled.”

Secondly, Jindal’s plan would have Congress give “standing to victims and their families to civilly sue local, state, and federal officials for failing to enforce the Immigration and Naturalization Act (INA) or failing to bring criminal charges of accessory against public officials that enact these policies.”

Again? I know they are cowards too afraid to fight for their own country but how much “protection” do illegal alien invaders need?

Other cities in the United States - when arresting illegals who are rapists and criminals - - should offered a choice: face charges OR accept a free ticket to San Francisco....

Dump illegals on San Francisco...

Spread the word Janie Har ... San Fran offers protection to the worst of the worst...

Yep, right there in the middle of Texas is uber liberal central. Austin’s city motto is, “Keeping Austin Weird” so no further need of discussion.
