House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisc.) unveiled what he called the Republicans policy agenda for 2017 on Wednesday, including a plan to regain the legislative power granted to Congress in Article One of the U.S. Constitution.
Article One, Ryan said at a pen and pad briefing with reporters at the Capitol, this is something that our members are very animated about because this has gotten out of control. This is about the separation of powers, about the Constitution, and wresting control away from decades of executive overreach and giving it back to Congress, he said.
Ryan noted that President Barack Obama is not the only president to employ executive overreach to advance his agenda. But this president has taken it even further than anyone before, Ryan said.

Ryan is worried about being kicked out in the primary.
Empty words Mr. Ryan...we’ve heard them before in 2010, 2014.
We won’t be fooled again.

Why, just in time for a President Trump, which is beginning to seem more and more likely.
D.C. and Associates must be really concerned about this possibility. Heck, I caught part of Beck's radio show with some guy ranting about Trump being a dictator in waiting. Nuts.

We now know what they had on Hastert, and we suspect what they have on John Roberts. I wonder if they have something on Ryan, simply own him outright, or he’s just that much of a cuck. It might be a combination of all, plus more.

I doubt it’s about anything like that on all save Hastert. They want to do this; they’ve wanted to be liberal for a long time and have been liberal.

They didn’t get a conservative GOP president in 2012, so they couldn’t institute it back then, obviously.
They had lots of Kabuki theater to play when it came to acting like a “government shutdown” would be fatal to anyone labeled “GOP”, though.
