Trump-Sanders debate would be Hillary Clinton's worst nightmare
cnbc.com ^ | 5/26/2016 | Jake Novak

Needless to say, if Sanders wins this primary it will wound Mrs. Clinton greatly. And Sanders chances to do just that would rise if this debate comes off. The contest would no doubt be the most-watched event in Sanders' political life and Clinton wouldn't even be there to defend herself. For a campaign that's been suffering a number of failures lately, its refusal to debate Sanders and setting off this alternative contest vs. Trump is perhaps the biggest failure yet. She can't even benefit from a sympathy factor if Trump and Sanders get too nasty in attacking her in absentia, because her absence is entirely her own fault.

It's also not wise for Clinton to allow any major campaign event to occur without her participation. With many right wing and progressive voters still hoping she may be disqualified from the race if she is indicted over her State Department email scandal, this kind of "Clinton-less" event gives them a taste of what they've been praying for all year.

Would be a brilliant move for Trump to do this. Donate the money to charity.

It would no longer matter if Hillary had more delegates, she would be marginalized as irrelevant, passé, extraneous to the process of picking the next President.

Guess what? Now I’m hearing that Donald ‘was just kidding’, that no, there will not be any debate with Bernie.
I think I just got whiplash.

Hillary is smart. She knows that every time she opens her mouth she loses votes.

The debate would smash viewership records.

IMHO, there is no benefit to debating The Bern and LOTS of potential downside.
Bernie isn’t going to cross the finish line so he can go as nasty as he wants.

Ted did plenty of damage to Trump.
Lets not have a replay of that drama.

Trump should debate Hillary and Bernie!

He could say it wasn’t fair for Hillary to be left out..lol

Would be watched by a yuuge audience.

Trump and Bernie could tag-team the Witch...lol

Trump and Bernie could make like chums... that would really piss Hillary off.

I think this would be a brilliant move by Trump. I wonder if a presumptive nominee of one party has ever debated a candidate from the other primary before they became the presumptive nominee. I doubt that has ever happened and it just shows how crazy this election season is. He is stirring the operation chaos pot in the Democratic party. Their convention is going to be great theater...

Ted did plenty of damage to Trump???????? What debate were you watching? Trump made Ted clap like a seal after he bested him over the New York values - Ted’s lackluster debate performance made me think he went to college as an affirmative action placement.

Trump could ‘conveniently’ lose on certain talking points that elevate Bernie whose voters will find Trump ok.

There are almost two generations now who have never had the case for free enterprise put before them.

They think that capitalism means crony, and conservative means neocon. They do not know the truth that came before January 20, 1988.

I've mentioned this on another thread, but a Trump-Bern ticket would be an unstoppable, 50 state sweep.

The only downside for Trump supporters would be if he didn't finish 4-8 years. So the question becomes: how much risk are they willing to take vs the opportunity to completely up-end uni-party control?

The question is mirror identical for Bernie supporters: he has no chance of the presidency through DNC channels, but there is an outside margin if he teams with Trump.

A Trump-Bern ticket would allow a 'shadow' administration to form & operate as early as this summer. They could begin the process of informing foreign governments to lock the overseas bank accounts of BHO, Bill-Hill, the Bushes, et al

They would also get a head start on filing the extradition paperwork necessary to return all the rats who would immediately begin fleeing the country.

Last, but not least, the FBI/DOJ would be given a green light to warm up the presses on thousands of criminal cases that have been buried.

So, the question remains: how much risk would Trump-Bern supporters be willing to take to make real change a reality?

It would be brilliant on Trump’s part. Bernie could take the high road and outline his agenda while Trump roasts Hillary with Bernie just nodding his head in agreement. Both could blast the establishment. Hillary would look incredibly weak by refusing to debate the both of them.

This is a remarkable article by the enemedia, and I would encourage everyone who finds this thread to read the whole thing. It pretty much is straight analysis (and good analysis at that), and as a consequence it puts Trump in a remarkably good light and Crooked Hillary in a remarkably bad light.

Overall, with a few exceptions like The Slimes and HuffPo, I’m seeing an amazing shift in the way much of the enemedia is writing about this election. I think they know Crooked Hillary is toast and Trump is going to win in a landslide, and are desperately trying to hold on to their last remaining thread of credibility by avoiding a fatal (to them) kamikaze attack against the U.S.S. Donald J. Trump imperial dreadnought.

” there is no benefit to debating “

Really?

No doubt the networks have already started a bidding war to carry this debate, as it will be the best political theater since TV was invented, with ratings totally through the roof, maybe greater than a Superbowl. And best of all, Irrelevant Hillary will be watching on the sidelines, stewing in her own juices as another poster has said.

Also, as others too have pointed out, a debate like this would be totally brilliant for Trump on multiple levels: Trump could only come out of this win-win, whereas no matter what happens for Bernie, this will be a MAJOR lose-lose for the Democrats and for Irrelevant Hillary herself, as it would have a shattering impact on the Democrat race. Basically, a debate like this is letting Trump inside the Democrat party to completely blow it up.

The Democrats couldn’t have imagined going up against someone like Trump in their wildest nightmares, and yet here he is and there they are.
