Trump's Decision To Debate Sanders In California Is His Most Genius Move Yet
Zerohedge ^ | May 27, 2016 | Tyler Durden

If the Trump/Sanders debate proceeds as planned in California, you’re about to witness one of the most important moments of a 2016 general election that hasn’t even begun yet. To say such a debate would be an unmitigated disaster for Hillary Clinton would be the understatement of the century. Let’s explore why.

First of all, Hillary Clinton outright rejected a debate request from Bernie Sanders ahead of the June 7th California primary. Given Sanders’ recent momentum, as well as her need to persuade a significant number of his supporters to back her in November; such a denial was not only arrogant, it was highly insulting to voters in America’s largest state. From team Clinton’s perspective there was little upside to agreeing to a debate, versus easily manageable downside from a few days of negative media coverage.

Or so they thought…

“All Trump has to do to beat the stuffing out Bernie is say “Venezuela” in his response...”

...not quite. Feel the bern idiots think Venezuela is a paradise. Cuba too. And probably Bangladesh.

Trump is sewing chaos within the Democrat Party.

Sewing chaos: what an interesting image. Trump as Betsy Ross.
Perhaps you meant "sowing" chaos?

Sew: a needle pulling thread
Sow: scatter seeds, implant, disseminate

We are not going to get those votes under any circumstances, anyway. If they don’t vote Democrat, they’ll vote Green.
That is one thing Bernie has done - we have not heard anything from the Greens and other waaaaaaaay Left parties during this election.
That is probably ‘cause they endorsed Bernie.

-- After reading some of the ZH comments, it seems like the Trump-Bern meme is beginning to float around. --

Fun speculation, and maybe some "wishful thinking" on the part of some who entertain the thought.

I see zero chance of Trump offering the VP slot to Sanders, just because Trump wants to build an efficient and effective executive teeam for capitalism and against Washington, and Bernie would be a slug in that operation, at best.

How in the world would they ever agree to which moderators to use. They will all (every single one of them) be out to “gotcha”.

Trump should insist on one “fair” moderator; one that we have never seen before then it would be worth watching. Maybe someone like Judge Jeanine, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter, Hannity, etc. That would be a never before type of debate!

The man’s brilliance and sheer audacity is incredible. Trump wins, pretty much no matter what.

Of course, he doesn’t need to debate - he’s running against no one right now for the nomination, he can play golf for the next month and a half and still come into the convention with 1500 delegates. However, this is a PRIME chance to embarrass Hillary and completely split the Dems.

Picture this: After Sanders zings him, all that Trump has to do is say, “Hey, Bernie, you know I feel sorry for you. You’ve done all of this campaigning, taken over a year out of your life, and the Democrat Party bosses won’t let you win, no matter what. Even if Hillary is indicted tomorrow - and she should be, she’s a corrupt criminal - you STILL won’t get the nomination. It’ll go to Joe Biden, probably, and he’ll take that lying, fake Indian, that lousy Senator Warren from Massachusetts. You won’t be in the picture at all. You’ll be the answer to a trivia question, that’s all. I feel very badly for you, you’re a sincere and honest guy, just trying to do what you think is right (even though you’re wrong on almost every issue), and this is how the Democrats are going to treat you - out with the garbage. Sad, so sad!”

So whether Bernie wins the nomination or not, whether Hillary is nominated or dropped, whether Biden and Fauxcahontas are on the ticket, Trump wins. He sows doubts galore and rips open unhealed wounds in the Dem Party, and causes many to vote for him, with many, many more staying home in November (which helps not only him, but also many Republicans down-ticket). It is win, win, win for Trump, and lose, lose, lose for Hillary and the Dems.

Oh, and his demand to fund women’s health issues to the tune of $10 million is win/win for him also. If it is done, HE essentially created that money from nothing. If it isn’t, well, he’s on record as trying to create it. Heck, it might even be a great publicity stunt and good investment if he says, “Hey, you know what, the networks with all of their money really don’t care about women’s health issues, but I do. So I’m going to kick in $5 million of my own money - and I hope that they will be shamed into giving the other $5 million. They should be able to afford it, between all of them.”

When will The Powers That Be understand that both the Trump and Bernie phenomenons have occurred because the public doesn’t want Hillary and Bill (and Chelsea and a new family dynasty) pushed down their throats?

“The only risk to Trump supporters is if he doesn’t make it 4-8 years. Likewise, the only risk to Bernie supporters is Trump does make it 4-8 years.”

And Trump can send him to visit American workers a mile underground in mines, a thousand feet up on antennas, everywhere that is stressful and dangerous. :>)

Seriously, uh, NO! Even a 1% chance that this Lenin clone would become President is too much. But warming up to him a bit, appearing to vet him for Veep - that will pay dividends.

“And if that happens what does Bernie do?”

Has a hissy fit, along with 10 million or more of his followers. Disaster for the Dems, as these people either vote for Trump out of sheer spite, or stay home in their faggy pajamas and drink hot chocolates.

Only Trump can beat himself. I wonder if this will be seen as that, Trump beating himself. Sanders is going to be in full attack-Trump mode. This could backfire on Trump.

If Trump's last name was McCain or Romney or Dole or Bush I or Bush II or Rove...but his last name is NOT!

When I first heard of this I could not believe what a brilliant move it was on Trump's part.

Paint Crooked Hillary into a corner.

Define, isolate, humiliate, DESTROY!

Which brings Trump's "smarts" into question.

America has been shat upon mightily by the Obama administration on the world stage. America has been belittled for the past 7+ years by a closet muslim slimebag.

"Mr. Trump we don't have time for the National Anthem to be sung before the rally."

Trump response, "Oh, yes we do."

Make America Great Again begins with patriotism. What better way to contrast Trump from The Bitch of Benghazi and Obama The Apologist than to have this occur at one of his rallies?

If happenstance that he took advantage of or if planned, either way it was great reaction or brilliant action.

As for Bernie, he still needs to attack Hillary and the system. Attacking Trump does nothing at this point for his campaign. He will probably be in full attack Hillary/establishment/Wall Street mode as well he should. That is his entire campaign.

Trump is an outsider like himself. No good can come from an attack.

Must be thinking of electoral votes as Alaska and Texas are significantly larger.

He’s a political MMA fighter in a political boxing match.

I like the analogy. I have been saying for years that the Republicans think they are in a debating club and the Democrats are in a bare knuckle brawl.

Trump gets it.

Living in Florida, we get a lot of local news about Trump that rarely makes it outside the state. One such event happened years ago and I came across an article recently that highlighted a story I'd long since forgotten. It shows us just how shrewd Trump can be:

You probably believe Sarah Palin said she could see Russia from her house. Since when has “her... wherever” meant what the MSM suggested it meant? All that incident did was identify a continued media bias against Donald Trump and increased his poll numbers. A couple of more “gaffs” like that one and he is the President! ;-)

I noticed the Trump-Bernie meme over there, too, and kinda dismissed it.

You’ve made me re-think with your insightful post.

Whether it could work or not, I’d be willing to see it just to watch all the heads explode over at National Review and the DNC, RNC, ABC . . .
